According to data from Nielsen TV Audience Measurement, GMA Network Inc. dominated viewer-rich Urban Luzon and Mega Manila in 2013.
More, the Pacquiao-Rios match “Pacquiao vs. Rios Fight as One,” which aired on GMA-7 in November, topped the charts in NUTAM (National Urban Television Audience Measurement), Urban Luzon, and Mega Manila covering the entire year.
From January to December 2013 (Dec. 15 to 31 based on overnight data), GMA recorded an average total day audience share of 36 percent in Urban Luzon, which makes up 77 percent of the total urban television households in the country.

Following closely behind the Pacquiao-Rios fight and “Anna Karenina” in the top 10 are “KMJS,” “GMA Flash Report: Pangulong Aquino, Hindi Kami Nagnakaw At Hindi Kami Magnanakaw,” primetime soap “Mundo Mo’y Akin” and weekly drama anthology “Magpakailanman.”

Kim And Xian In ‘Bride For Rent’
The romantic comedy movie “Bride For Rent,” which opens in theaters nationwide on Jan. 15, is the 2014 opening salvo of Star Cinema. Kim Chiu and Xian Lim team up anew in this comedy flick. The last time they were together was in the 2013 box office hit movie “Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo.”
The two reel-lovers, whose closeness has understandably become suspect of a romantic liaison, denied however that they have any relationship other than what they have in the movie as ardent lovers, with Kim Chiu as even more aggressive.
“We will share with you the news as soon as one is available,” Xian Lim stressed when some entertainment writers pummeled them with questions regarding their real-life relationship. “We are just being close, no less no more,” Xian avoided a direct answer. Kim supported his statement.
“He comes to our house,” Kim revealed. “He brings some food, or snacks. He meets my family, and we are that close.”
Their closeness is such that Kim even said that Xian is the only man yet he can ever trust. Earlier, Kim has been brokenhearted because of a failed relationship.
Kim attended the press conference for “Bride For Rent” Tuesday evening at the Dolphy Theater attired sexily, and when noticed, she said “I am now 24 years old, and I think it is already appropriate for me to dress like this.”
In the same press conference, the director, Mae Czarina Cruz, announced she is getting married this year with a non-showbiz personality who resides in the US. “I am so excited about the movie because somehow it feels like it is my story. I am 40 years old now,” she added. “It’s really about time I settle down!”
A special feature of “Bride For Rent” is the grand comeback to the big screen of Asia’s Queen of Songs Pilita Corrales who plays a significant role.

The Entrepreneur In Karylle
Karylle put up her first business venture – the Centerstage Family KTV and Resto-Bar at the corner of Tomas Morato and Timog Ave. in Quezon City – in 2007. It was her first real big investment and it was understandable if she was a little scared.
“At first, I was hesitant to invest my savings in Centerstage. But then I realized that I should choose to invest my time and money in businesses that interest me and the things I am passionate about. I was able to convince myself to invest in Centerstage since I am passionate about music and entertainment,” she said.
Centerstage now has two branches, one on Jupiter St. in Makati, and another at SM Mall of Asia in Seaside Blvd.
Her latest business venture is The Mango Farm dessert kiosk in Greenhills. The Mango Farm is just one of the many food-cart brands under the Fruitas Group of Companies, which Karylle also endorses. The Mango Farm sells shakes juices and other blended cold drinks using fresh mangoes as the main ingredient.
