‘Hair Asia’s Salon Spectacular 2013’ spotlights on the environment
Green is in and Hair Asia is sounding the call for the Philippine hair industry.
On Nov. 19, “Salon Spectacular 2013,” the annual event attended by thousands of members of the hair and makeup industry, Hair Asia will shine the spotlight on the environment.
“The destructive onslaught of rains like the recent Super Typhoon Odette, counteracting with soaring heat waves are neither natural nor coincidental,” Hair Asia president and organizer Evelyn Alvaran-Cruz says.
“We’ve abused the environment through our unfriendly practices in terms of waste disposal and we have to collectively act to stop and, if possible, reverse the damage we’ve caused. We are all to blame, and in the same way, we are all responsible for making amends,” Cruz continues.
Through “Salon Spectacular 2013,” Cruz intends to promote the critical shift to environmentally sustainable practices in salons all over the country.
Despite the serious tone of the theme, Cruz assures attendees that this year’s event will not lack in exciting highlights that the Hair Asia events have come to be known for.
Hairdressing gurus like Alex Carbonell, Victor Ortega and Danny Katalbas will headline demonstrations and inspired hair shows, while stylists-to-the-stars Henri Calayag, Teng Roma, Patrick Rosas, Louis Phillip Kee, Angelo Justin, Deng Foz, Bambbi Fuentes, Jude Hipolito and Rose Velasco are just a few of the industry bigwigs that will pick out this year’s champion, who will win a brand new Yamaha Motorbike.
The Hair Asia competitions are always held alongside the Cosmetic Expo – the metro’s biggest one-stop-shop for hair, makeup and salon products, gadgets, equipment and accessories. The Expo attracts massive attendees because of its established reputation for best deals and value-for-money items.
Major event partners – L’Oréal Professionnel, Wella Professionals, Cynos, and Brazilian Blowout, are expected to go big and very green with their trade booths, promo offerings, samplings and live demonstrations.
Participating exhibitors include Aktuelle, Bandi Nails, Beauty Concept, Beauty Kingdom, Beauty Touch, Berrywell, Botanique Spa, Chihtsai Hair Care, Cosmocare International, Creatic, DKC Trading, Handle Enterprises, I-Cure, James Cooper Jazzy Collection, Just Nail, Konad Stamping Nail Art, LBY Enterprises, Le Couleur Shop, Inc., Lucida, Matrix, Max Factor, Mondes Professional, MRC Beauty Products, MTN Esthetique Supplies, Inc., Nunaat, Rakaposhi Handmade Scissors, Revlon Professional, Royale Business Club International, Inc., Schwarzkopf Professional, Shawill Corporation, Shinebest Marketing, Soltera Hair, Sprint Asia Beauty, Suesh Makeup Toolkit, Sunshine Beauty Shop, TBS Beauty Supplies, Vybrance International, and Wahl.
