CITEM sets Best IT Services awards

The Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) is giving recognition for the best Information Technology (IT) services and products in the country this week.

This will be the 3rd year of CITEM’s e-Services Philippines (ESP) Awards and over 30 local and multinational IT companies have participated in the competition, so far.

"The annual ESP Awards aims to recognize both private and public organizations that excel in providing quality and customer-centric IT products and services," according to CITEM caretaker Angelita Madulid.

For 2004, nominations from small-and mediumscale IT businesses and large IT companies have jumped significantly "as more exhibitors have come to realize the valuable business opportunities and instant market recognition generated by the awards."

She cited GiveMe Unlimited, a small wireless software start-up that won last year’s ESP award for mobile applications. "The company generated R2.4 million worth of contracts and won over 30 new customers in just eight months following the exhibit."

Other winners such as Jupiter Systems, ADTX Systems, Navigator Systems, Asian Navigation and Tracking Systems and CyberCity Teleservices have also reported increased sales driven by increased awareness and goodwill associated with the awards.

Local exhibitors in Manila,Bataan, Cebu, and Dava have submitted their nominations for ESP, according to CITEM IT division chief Josephine Briones-Gonzalez. (EVA)
