Multimedia group formed to assist voting public

As elections approach, it is critical that every voter – most especially the man-on-the-street voter not necessarily familiar with the nuances of the political arena – is given access to relevant and accurate information regarding the candidates seeking his/her vote, as well as the opportunity to voice their opinions and consider the opinions of others. “The Road to 2004” Alliance has come together precisely for this purpose.

Spearheaded by Netmedia, Inc. (operator of VoteWisely.com), “The Road to 2004” Alliance is a multi-media campaign created to deliver to the voting public information that will assist them in making informed and well-thoughyt-through choices, come May 2004.

The Alliance shall be concerned with the following services:

- Providing non-partial, relevant and accurate election-related information,

- Providing Filipinos with a venue to ask their questions and express their opinions on election-related issues – thus, giving the public the opportunity to speak while the candidates listen instead of the other, more traditional way around, and

- Providing a venue for our modern heroes – our OFWs – to communicate with candidates and voters here in the Philippines.

For the first time in Philippine history, various media representatives have joined to make this campaign available on the following platforms:

- Television (RPN 9, IBC 13),

- Radio (88.3, 89.1, 89.9, 99.5, 103.5 and other provincial stations),

- Print (The Philippine Star, Manila Bulletin),

- Online (VoteWisely.com, philstar.com, BrainshareOnline, mb.com.ph, and yehey.com),

- Cable (a dedicated channel on Destiny Cable called Pulse of the People), and

- SMS (Smart Communications, Globe Telecoms, Sun Cellular).

“The Road to 2004” Alliance was designed to maximize the strengths and resources of each of the Alliance members – through sharing of information, collaboration and cooperation – in order to bring its services to the public in as broad and efficient manner as possible. The availability of these services on various platforms will allow it to reach significantly more people, increasing awareness and encouraging intelligent debate among both local and global Filipinos.

“The Road to 2004” Alliance is a non-partisan organization in the service of the voting public.
