662 new occupational & physical therapists


The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced yesterday that 662 out of 2,116 passed the Physical and Occupational Therapist Licensure Examination given by the Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy in the cities of Manila, Baguio, and Cebu this month.

On the Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy which gave the licensure examination are Dr. Teresita Joy P. Evangelista, chairman; Raul G. Agustin, Marylynn B. Querouz, Bernadette M. Reyes, and Eduardo Miguel M. Sison, members.

The oathtaking ceremony of successful examinees will be held before the Board on Wednesday, March 10, 1 p.m., at the Manila Hotel.

Registration for membership with the Philippine Physical Therapist Association (PPTA) and Occupational Therapist Association of the Philippines (OTAP) will take place after registration with the board and the commission.

The top performing schools for Physical Therapy (with 10 or more examinees) are:

Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, 10 of 11, 91 percent; University of the Philippines-Manila, 10 of 11, 91 percent; Far Eastern University-Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation, eight of 10, 80 percent; and Mariano Marcos State University-Batac, 12 of 19, 63 percent.

The successful physical therapist examinees who garnered the 20 highest places are the following:

Joseph Borromeo Villanueva, 84.30 percent; Jojo Tomas Francisco, 83.65; Mary Nel Bondoc Bolante, 83; Maria Louella Diokno Dumlao, 82.80; Jacklyn Artates Bagalay and Clisdel Marie Torrico Miranda, 81.95; Hershy Asuncion Casubha, 81.60; Jehan Asis Matoza, 81.20; Michelle Anne Curia Entoma, 81.05; Joy Loreen Pachejo de Jesus and Feljandro Placido Ramos, 81; Paolo Jay Viloria Bacero, 80.90;

Mark Gonzales Cabrera and Ian John Paul Cerro Sumayod, 80.80; Myrna Liza Carpio Adora, 80.75; Anabelle Lu Justo, 80.60; Anna Lyn dela Cruz Catalan, 80.50; Jo-anne delos Santos Arcilla, 80.45; Algene Narag Bautista, Gregorio II Tan Daez, and Rochelle Agrimano Lagra, 80.40; Dianalyn Fernando Banayo 80.35; Rowena Balaba Epe and Mary Antonette Perez Montepio, 80.30; Zeus Tadije Villanueva, 80.15; and Gladys Gay Pazo Arligue, 80.10.

Meanwhile, the top performing schools for Occupational Therapy (with 10 or more examinees) are:

University of the Philippines-Manila, 10 of 10, 100 percent; and Cebu Doctors College, 7 of 11, 64 percent.

The successful occupational therapist examinees who garnered the five highest places are:

Ferleo Chavez Pasia, 82.40; Carmelita dela Cruz, 82; Gloria Leonora Zuņiga Hilario, 80.40; Errol Fedellaga Mangapis, 80.20; and Gay Hernandez Juntereal, 80.
