On Feb. 13, 14 and 15, 9 p.m., Australian dancing lotharios Thunder from Down Under whip up a feverish performance at the Casino Amphitheater in Parañaque City, as they rip off their clothes, bare their perfectly tanned skin and well- formed muscles, shake their assets to a racy tune, and have thousands of frenzied Pinays screaming for them, perhaps even more riotous than the entire F4 boys could manage.
The group features eight Aussie men who were chosen among 2,000 applicants who auditioned over a year ago. And now, barely even out of their first year as a group, Thunder has already performed to more than 14 million women, touring England, Russia, Canada, South Africa, New Zealand, Taiwan, Mexico and the United Kingdom. They have performed in diverse venues such as London’s theater district to the Sun City Casino in South Africa.
The Australian male dancing group has been considered as the world’s number one male cabaret revue act, toppling another popular group from North America.
The group is also consistently listed as one of the Top 10 Theater Acts in Australia, and now has a permanent home at the Excalibur Hotel, on the famous Las Vegas Strip. This Valentine season, the group will be testing their hot factor on Philippine shores.
Last Monday, the press had a sneak peek of these Aussie men’s world- famous anatomies, at a private party held at the V- Bar in Glorietta.
The Thunder guys were seen in their signature scorching dance routines and in various stages of undress. As it turned out, after watching the preview, the male dance revue performers’ Valentine weekend show is expected to turn even the most prudish collegiala into a male anatomy- loving convert.
"We were told that the Filipinos can get pretty wild when excited, that’s why I’m thrilled to perform to the Philippine crowd," said Keith Miles, the 23- year- old beefcake from Melbourne. Apparently, he’s one of the crowd favorite.
The two-hour show will feature sensational Vegas costumes, high- tech lighting and sound, and the much- raved about dance moves.
"Our latest production will also feature a variety of dance music, rock n’ roll, hip- hop, music from the ‘70s, jazz, etc.," said Keith.
Each segment of the show will also highlight themed dance routines with songs from "Saturday Night Fever," "Grease," "Lawrence of Arabia" and "Officer and a Gentleman.
"This is going to be a memorable night especially for singles," enthused Marlon Bata who co- produced the event with Jovy Gongora, both from Fishbowl Entertainment.
"These days, it’s fashionable to be single!"
