Typhoon ‘Cosme’ on its way out of RP

   

Typhoon “Cosme’’ yesterday moved northeast away from the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said yesterday.

The weather bureau said Cosme,  which entered the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) during the last  weekend, is already on its way out of the country.

As of yesterday morning, the typhoon was located 980 kilometers northeast of northern Luzon with winds  of 175 kilometers per hour (kph) and gusts of up to 210 kph.

Moving northeast at 13 kph, Cosme will be 1,190 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes today.

Forecasters from Pagasa said with this latest development, the whole country will be partly cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Winds coming from the north and northwest will be moderate to occasionally strong over eastern Luzon as coastal waters will be moderate to occasionally rough while over the Visayas and Mindanao, winds will be light to moderate from the north and northeast with waters that are slight to moderate.
