Muntinlupa settles its full obligations to gov’t agencies
GSIS official says city obedient in settling dues

Muntinlupa City is probably the only local government unit (LGU) in the country which has settled in full its obligations to some national government agencies putting a stop to rumors that it is negligent to such duties particularly to the Government service Insurance System (GSIS).

To erase the public’s doubts, GSIS vice President Bert Agustin personally came to the city government during its flag raising activity and announced that the city has indeed paid in full its premiums and arrearages to the said agency.

"You would not perhaps be receiving your dividends from us, has your mayor been not doing paying the GSIS," Agustin told the thousands of employees at the city quadrangle.

Likewise, city administrator lawyer Henry Reyes reiterated that the city is religious when it comes paying obligations to the Bureau of Internal Revenue, PhilHealth, Pag-Ibig and Metro Manila Development Authority share, among others.

Reyes said the city is probably the lone city in the entire metropolis which is obedient in settling its dues to the national government.

"We hope this release would release would put a period once and for all to those erroneous reports being spread by our rivals that we have unpaid dues," he said.

"If there are people who should be complaining against us regarding this, I believe it should be our employees because that will be the very first to get affected by our non-compliance. Clearly, this is just a work of our frustrated rivals in politics" he said.

Reyes said receipts were even shown to the people bearing amount of remittances at P7,078,075 representing the full payment of arrearages for various periods in the city.
