Munti city hall undergoes rehabilitation

Adopting with the signs of the times, the city of Muntinlupa led by Mayor Jaime Fresnedi is going through a series of rehabilitation works covered by its beautification program starting with its parking area for improved service to the public and taxpayers as well.

Fresnedi said several structures have been removed from the parking area right now to give allot about 44 more slots for parking vehicles. The city’s platform which formerly served as a stage where various important events were held including the recent oathtaking rites was dismantled.

Instead the city government will place collapsible platforms depending on the type of gathering that will be conducted. Its 50-foot Christmas Tree was also taken out and will only be installed during the Yuletide season.

The mayor said a proposed restructuring plan of the city hall is being looked into where bridges or pathways will be constructed to connect all the three buildings together.

Several golden palm trees will be strategically aligned to serve as lamp posts and a pocket garden will be positioned in front of the city hall to enliven the building’s facade.

The mayor said a basketball court will be constructed on the rooftop of the People’s Center Building. The city previously held its sportsfest at its quadrangle which is also its parking area.

The local government employees can park their cars at the old Land Transportation Office situated near the city hall which the administration will lease.

Also part of the beautification drive is the lighting of 50 light posts in Alabang which is the city’s busiest district, installation of railings in the area and in some barangays, and placing of streetlights in the Poblacion.
