Gantimpala Theater Foundation (GTF), in cooperation with Nestle Ice Cream and National Parks Development Committee, presents the opening of its 27th season with “Kanser,” on Aug. 6, at the AFP Theater in Q.C.
Based on Jose Rizal’s novel, “Noli Me Tangere,” “Kan-ser” is a riveting stage play – an award-win-ning piece written by Jo-mar Fleras.
It features Roy Rolloda as Crisos-tomo Ibarra; Pamela Hundana as Maria Clara; Dante Balois as Pilosopong Tasyo; Lucy Navarette Valenzuela as Doña Victoria; Marcus Madrigal as Elias; Lani Tapia as Sisa; John Rhoderey Dizon as Basilio; and Dido dela Paz as Padre Damaso.
The Gantimpala Actors Company is composed of a formidable artistic and production team led by director Jun F. Flavier Pablo, assistant director Adriana Agcaoili, lights designer by Jay Aranda, musical director Jessie Lucas, and GTF president and artistic director Tony S. Espejo.
“Kanser” will also be staged on Aug. 7 and 8, at the AFP Theater; Aug. 13, 14 and 15, at Saint Cecilia’s Hall, Saint Scholastica’s College Manila; Aug. 20 and 21, at RFC Cinema in Las Piñas City; and Aug. 27 and 28, at the Cabuyao Arts Center in Laguna.
