A civilian traffic volunteer, taking to his heart his volunteerism, nearly lost his life yesterday when the bus driver he cited for traffic violation tried to run over him after which the bus conductor stabbed him in Caloocan City.
Investigation showed that the victim, Aaron Mafeo, 24, of Orcana Street, Caloocan City, was manning his post in front of MCU Hospital when he saw RRCG bus blocking a portion of EDSA.
He immediately approached the driver, Danny Dalis, 31, of Meycauayan, Bulacan, and told him to give way to other vehicles.
Instead of heeding his call, the driver allegedly tried to run over him over while the conductor, Ken Baynosa, of Santolan Road, Quezon City, got off the vehicle and stabbed him in the arm.
Policemen nearby noticed the commotion and arrested the two suspects while the traffic volunteer was taken to the hospital.
