2004 Henry Ford Awards launched

The search for the country’s best automotive journalists continues with the launch of the 2004 Henry Ford Awards.

Two new categories will be introduced this year: The Auto Test Drive and the Motoring Column Issue. The Auto Test Drive category for print and online journalists welcome entries that present a thorough review of a vehicle via a test drive activity, and presents any innovation in the vehicle, not exclusive to Ford.

Meanwhile, the Motoring Column Issue welcomes entries that presents the author’s opinion and views on a vehicle, auto event and the auto industry, not exclusive to Ford.

There are nine categories in this year’s program: Published Photo for Newspaper, Published Photo for Magazine, Auto Event Story, Auto Industry Story, Online Feature, Automotive Television Feature and Best Ford Feature Story.

The pot for each of the category winners is R25,000 plus a personalized trophy. The Best Ford Feature story winner will take home R35,000 and a trophy.

Eligible entries for the 2004 program should have been published within Nov. 2, 2003 and Nov. 1, 2004. The deadline for submission of entries is on Nov. 5, 5 p.m.
