J-OFIS 2005 now open for application

JETRO is now accepting applications for exhibitors for the JETRO Outsourcing Fair for IT Software 2005. This will be held on January 25 to 27, 2005 at the JETRO Exhibition Hall in Akasaka, Tokyo, Japan.

J-OFIS 2005 welcomes overseas IT companies, positioned to accept software development orders from Japanese firms.

Japan’s software developers are eager to outsource portions of their development projects to overseas outsourcing companies, with the hope of securing human resources, reducing software development costs, improving their range of software development, and reinforcing the company’s core competence– which is a major priority for the IT software industry. However, according to a survey of the industry, only 2-3% of software development in Japan is outsourced overseas.

Joining IT trade fairs in Japan is a good venue for IT companies to find partners in Japan. What are the advantages for exhibiting in J-OFIS. JETRO will 1) arrange business meetings between exhibitors and Japanese firms, 2) organize notable speakers from the Japanese IT companies, 3) arrange consultation services by Japanese IT experts for free, 4) arrange interpretation services for free, 5) provide visitors’ list after the fair for future follow-ups.

For interested parties, please contact Ms. Jhoanne Dalisay at 8924373 or 76.
