If boys will always be boys, then girls will always be… unpredictable. We could be anything – sweet, enchanting, flirtatious, vampy, seductress… the list goes on. And yup, we admit that we’ll do anything in the name of confidence, attention, looking forever young, or simply loving what we have, and flaunting it. Girls today (whether old or young) are no longer afraid to explore the world out there. And when it comes to looks, we sure know how to experiment.
We’ve come up with two looks that run between the extreme areas of the sweet and the temptress. Complementing them with a spritz or two of today’s most sniffed-after fragrance, then, we’re ready to go…

Sweet Sixteen: Luminous and Glowing
Who said that scent and make-up don’t go together? Well, you better think twice.
Because Giannina Marie Lim’s luminous and glowing look, courtesy of Kanebo’s T’estimo Autumn & Winter 2004 Collection, is an offshoot from her fave Benetton B•United Woman scent that contains a dash of a budding rose.
Check out these must-haves used in Kanebo make-over and fall in love with Giannina’s sweet look, when guest make-up artist from Japan, Junya Yoneda, transformed her to a blooming teener.
1. Apply Facial freshener (try Raphaei from Kanebo) is used before applying Freya skin toner and Freya moisturizer to relax skin pores before application of make-up.
2. Don’t forget to use sunblock before applying the foundation. Try Faircrea Daily Veil.
3. Apply liquid foundation. Try White Faircrea, which contains vit. C.
4. Hide those dark circles around your eyes with the concealer.
5. Dabbing loose powder will give a fresher look. Try Revue Face Powder, available in two shades— light beige and medium beige.
6. Put tint on the cheeks. Try T’estimo Color Cheeks (P1,100) for a face that sparkles like a satin veil, then, apply T’estimo Color Lighting (P1,100) that shines and creates translucency and depth for a beautiful finish.
7. Easy to use Jelly Pure Eyes (P2,000), an eyeshadow set that creates a full and glossy look due to the layering effect of gel and powder. It contains sheer 3-D pearl to make the area around the eyes fuller.
8. T’estimo Eye Highlight in gold for shimmering effect on the eyelids, to open up the eyes.
9. T’estimo Green Mascara to give volume to long lashes.
10. Delicious lips are made of T’estimo Enamel Rouge Gloss (P900), with moisture-rich apricot extract for fuller lips, and of T’estimo Styling Rouge Lipstick (P1, 650), with multi-dimensional translucent lighting effect that provides beautifully shaped lips from every angle.
Japanese make-up artist Junya Yoneda shares his secrets:
1. Don’t rub the facial freshener, toner and moisturizer on the face, just tap, so skin won’t get irritated.
2. Brown sunblock is ideal for fair-skinned like Giannina, while green sunblock is for those with pinkish complexion, and white sunblock for clear skin.
3. Mix concealer with liquid foundation for natural finish and long lasting effect.
4. When applying concealer, use brush instead of the tip of your finger. Brush has lighter pressure.
Benetton B•United Woman explodes with the fizzy note of red fruit sorbet, with fuity hints that give wearer a joyful, playful, yet sophisticated mood.
Temptress Queen: Sexy and Vivacious
It’s all in the eyes. If you want people to start taking you seriously, then all you got to do is look them straight into the eyes and let them know you mean business. Of course, it wouldn’t hurt that you’re eyes are all made-up so you’ll get more than just respect, but admiration for your peepers. Beauty, afterall, is in the eyes of the beholder.
We got pointers from The Body Shop’s Autumn Make-up Launch, dubbed Hot Lips, and Sexy Eyes.
Model Nicolette Bell’s truly expressive eyes were given more oomph by using the brand’s recently introduced Duo Eye Colour in Hazel Pearl and Gold Shimmer.
To start with, make-up artist Marge Apacible applied a light liquid foundation on Nicolette to even-out her skin tone. Then the eye make-up’s darker color was applied on her lower eyelids to give the model a smoky eye effect, while the gold shimmer was spread on the upper part of her eyelid to open-up the whole look. A light bronze blush gave her apples a sophisticated touch. The whole ensemble was finished with a generous spread of Lip Colour Dusk Pink followed by The Body Shop’s Lip Gloss Tube Pink Shine to better accentuate the smoky eyes.
The sultriness of Nicolette was complemented with The Body Shop’s Invent Your Own Scent Collection. The brand’s nine variants can be paired-up to produce a truly different and unique fragrance you can call your own. For the sexy ensemble, the combination of Citrella and Velique was just perfect for the Vivacious outcome.
