Toyota launches ‘Summer-on-the-road’

The summer season will be officially opened with the culmination of the Lenten Season next week. Families will be trooping once again to the provinces and other destination to take advantage of the long holiday.

The service people of Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) Corporation, on the other hand, will also be on the road as well to ensure a safe and smooth travel for the summer trekkers.

In its 14th year of service, TMP will once again conduct the Toyota Summer on the Road Service Campaign (TSOS).

From March 24-27, Toyota will be on standby in various Northern and Southern Luzon locations ready to assist Toyota motorists in emergency situation.

The TSOS is an annual service activity for the summer holidays conducted by selected Toyota dealers in Northern and Southern Luzon. For the past 14 years, the TSOS served as an off-base activity that offers free labor charge for emergency roadside service for the motoring public in various vacation sites during the Holy Week.

Toyota Service Mobile stations include Toyota Baguio in Baguio City (Caltex Station), Toyota Shaw-Ortigas in La Union (Caltex Station), Toyota Commonwealth in Capas, Tarlac Caltex Station, Toyota San Fernando along San Fernando Olongapo-Gapan Road, and Toyota Balintawak in Guagua Olongapo-Gapan Road Caltex Station in Northern Luzon.

The Southern Luzon teams are composed of Toyota Quezon Avenue in Tagaytay City Junction, Toyota Makati in Calamba, Laguna Barangay Halang Caltex Station, Toyota Batangas in San Pablo Laguna, Caltex Station.

Service advisors, technicians, air-con technicians, and battery technicians will be available on site to provide assistance.

The Toyota Summer On The Road stations ensure a worry and hassle free travel this coming week.

To avoid any inconvenience, however, it is a good idea to do a safety check before starting out on a trip. Toyota shares the following simple tips that can help ensure safe and pleasant driving.

Before starting the engine, check the pressure of the tires using a gauge and look carefully for cuts, damage or excessive wear. Make sure no nuts are missing or loose. After the vehicle has been parked for a while, check underneath for leaking fuel, oil, water, or fluid. Make sure the headlights, brake lamps, taillights, turn signals, and other lights are all working. Also check the headlight aim to make ensure safety during night driving.

Inside the vehicle, make sure you are equipped with jack and wheel nut wrench. These tools prove useful during unexpected roadside accidents.

Make sure that seat belt buckles lock securely. Ensure that the belts are not worn or frayed. Give special attention to the service reminder indicators, instrument lights, and defroster. Check pedal clearance.

For a hassle-free out-of-town trip this Holy Week, have your cars checked at your nearest Toyota dealer for a complete vehicle and inspection. And whatever happens, the Toyota Summer On The Road people will be on standby to assist you.
