TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol — Boholano students, who are eyed as future leaders of the country, are given much-needed assistance with the launching of the "IT for the FUTURE project" of computer school Informatics and Leaders Unlimited, a foundation created to inculcate and advocate the qualities of patriotic and responsible leadership.
With the launching of the "IT for the FUTURE project" and the Skills Training Enhancement ProgramEmployment Accessibility for the Youth (STEP-EASY), Anna Marie Periquet of the Aurelio Periquet Jr. Foundation Inc. said Bohol’s student leaders will be further developed not only as good businessmen and employees but also as future leaders.
Leaders Unlimited was tapped to take part in the total development of potential young leaders through the conduct of seminars, workshops, skills training, and scholarship and employment programs that instill the correct values.
It also aims to encourage young leaders to dedicate their lives to the service of their community — that is, an active life of service in the private and public sectors through the conduct of Leaders Unlimited’s STEP-EASY.
"We believe that the Filipino youth has a lot to give, and we are introducing this project in Bohol because the province has a strong youth group," said Periquet, who was an active youth sector representative during the time of President Fidel Ramos.
During the launching and signing of memorandum of agreement (MoA) by the Leaders Unlimited, Informatics, and the sangguniang panlalawigan (SP) of Bohol at the function hall of Metro Center Hotel in Tagbilaran City, Periquet said the graduates of the STEP-EASY program will be assisted by Leaders Unlimited in finding employment through the Bohol Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
"We are doing this to pay tribute to our late fathers who are leaders in various field," said Periquet, whose father, Aurelio Periquet Jr., lived his life in active service to the public and private sectors.
Bohol Gov. Erico Aumentado thanked Leaders Unlimited for choosing Bohol and urged the student leaders to make the project an inspiring opportunity. (Mars Mosqueda Jr.)
