‘Kristo… Isang Cenakulo’

Michael King Urieta, one of the most promising talents in the Gantimpala Theater Foundation’s (GTF) Actors Company, directs “Cristo,” which is slated on March 21, 7:30 p.m., at the Our Lady of Fatima Church, in Valenzuela City.

Urieta, who is only 20 years old, started his theater career in GTF first as part of the Stage Management workshop handled by Ed Murillo in 2002.

Since then, he has taken part in the company’s season plays namely "Kanser" (Noli Me Tangere), where he played the part of the 12-year-old Basilio; as the narrator in the komedya presentation of "Florante at Laura"; and as a Boy Toy, in the GTF-TheatreNow production of "Despidida de Soltera."

"Cristo" is a two-hour epic drama presentation based on the Filipino Pasyong Genesis.

The cenaculo will depict the life of Jesus Christ from his baptism by John the Baptist, His passion, death and Resurrection.

The play stars Ace Urieta (Jesus Christ), Angel dela Cruz (Mama Mary) Kristel Garcia (Mary Magadalene) and Ronald Ramirez (Narrator).

Cristo is an annual activity of the Valenzuela Community Theater.
