GlobeSolutions launches web-based corporate tracking system

When a company knows where a “mobile” employee is at a given location or time, is it supposed to be positive or negative?

The paranoid few would think such a thing has shades of “Big Brother is watching you.”  But Globe Solutions categorically says “No, definitely not !” as it launched last week the Tracker Corporate Edition,  a web-based locator facility that allows authorized corporate clients to map the locations of people and vehicles by tracking their Globe SIMs.

Paolo Lopez, head of  business development  for GlobeSolutions, said their Tracker  service is pioneering since it is the first of its kind to be offered to its high-value customers and corporate managed accounts. With the service,  companies can monitor their  sales people and  dispatch them should complaints from clients arise while they are in the field. Operations managers can now check if their messengers or drivers  have gotten to their destinations safely. The same is true for firms that deal with manufacturing delivery, logistics  or are security-sensitive that they have to know the whereabouts of their key vehicles and personnel at any given time.

“ Our aim here is to help companies increase their productivity and efficiency, increase sales, track their resources  and enhance customer service. It is malicious to think that the service would be used to monitor an employee’s personal movements, for example. We have  built-in mechanisms against that,” said Lopez.

With the help of  Map Central, the GlobeSolutions Tracker Corporate Edition gives clients the option of viewing locations in map form, which graphically shows the vicinity of the tracked user. Maps can be panned  and zoomed as needed, and includes such details as popular landmarks. The service is designed for easy accessibility  since clients can view location reports on their PC or via SMS using their mobile phones.

The GlobeSolutions Tracker Corporate Edition also stands out for its friendly customization features. Subscribers may generate track reports on demand, set update intervals for the locations of select users and store up to three months of historical data. Tracking automatically turns on/shuts off at user-defined time/s each day.

“What’s good about this solution is that it entails no additional investment on the part of our corporate clients. Of course they can opt to have a GPS device but it can easily run in the amount of P40,000 and above. On the other hand, our Tracker Corporate Edition  can be subscribed to for as low as P2,500 a month. It’s very cost effective for a kind of service that packs a wallop in terms of locating people and assets,” added senior product manager Louie Villanueva. Since its launching a few weeks ago, GlobeSolutions Tracker system has elicited positive response from its client base, with countless hits on its website http://tracker.globesolutions.com.ph (ANNALYN S.
