A game of polo

Polo remains to be one of the most prestigious athletic events, dubbed as the sport for the royalty and elite.

In the Philippines, only a select few play and excel in this sport. Sports lifestyle brand Fila acknowledges the spirit and dedication of these athletes, and provides its support through the second Fila Polo Cup recently held at the Manila Polo’s Club.

Among the players were Bobby Aguirre, Inigo Zobel, Santi Elizalde, Vince Bitong, Jay de Jesus, Jose Constantino, Anthony Garcia, Dino and Dondi Santos and former equestrian turned polo player Rosanna Yulo.

Fila’s style thrust and philosophy, "This is my life," couldn’t have captured the passion of these people more eloquently.

As polo enthusiasts and guests arrived, they were welcomed withFila’s brand endorsers Bianca Araneta, tennis champ Chase Tinio, basketball player JR Wacker, race car driver Pepon Marave and model Robby Mananquil.

Bianca Araneta made a grand entrance in a Ducati bike.

She was joined by Bea Azcuna (daughter of Supreme Court Justice Adolf Azcuna) and Ducati bikers Abe Abesamis, Toti Alberto, Joy Alberto, Jose Beech, Koki Beech, Bobby Bonifacio, Joel Bretana, Gary Cantong, Woody Jose, Edwin Lee, Mel Lumagui, Joshua Macintosh, Jun Mariano, Andy Navarette, Paulo Ortanez, Bobby Ozaeta, Robert Palomar, Ray Pascual, Noel Raymundo and Love–Love Teoseco.

Also at the event were Fila’s big boss Butch Albert, HSBC’s Warner Manning, former sportsman Dante Silverio, Juan Elizalde, Carlo Evaristo, Joel Trinidad, Pinky Amador, Paula Zobel Bianca Zobel and Ramon Sy.

Cris Albert, iSport Life’s GM and VP, which is the local distributor of Fila, was pleased with the success of this year’s Fila Cup.

"We always push Filipino talents and support Philippine sports. We believe that Filipinos can really stand out. We just need to provide them the opportunity to enhance and cultivate their skills."

The Fila Cup was organized by Ana Bitong, hosted by JR Isaac and directed by Rem Zamora.
