Defending champion tandem of Gil Domingo and Lito Abad leads a record field 600 members and guests vying for signature trophies and attractive raffle prizes in the four-day, 36-hole, 2-man team competition set at the challenging Masters and Legends championship courses from April 7-10.
"With the ace prizes available, it’s no wonder that we have the biggest (in terms of participation) and the grandest Invitational in the club’s history," said chairman Freddie Mendoza of the Sports and Games Committee, organizers of the annual event.
Perennial corporate partners Mitsubishi Motors, Diamond Motors, Royal Caribbean International, and Wilson Sports along with Samsung and newcomers Korean Air and El Nido Resorts make up this year’s tournament presenters. Club Car-Turf Company, Globe Telecom and Nestlé are major sponsors.
Other equally impressive prizes up for grabs for the lucky ace makers are the 4 days/3 nights El Nido vacation package for two inclusive of airfare and a Club Car DS golf cart.
Samsung, on the other hand, will sponsor major raffle items featuring their top of the line electronics and appliances while Globe will give out some of the hottest and latest cellular phones in the market today.
Mendoza said that in case nobody makes that rare ace, all hole-in-one prizes (except the golf cart) would be raffled off during the awarding ceremony.
Baron Golf Shop, Britesmile, CJH Dev. Co., CJH Manor, Club Leisure, Miramar Tuna Belly, MRT, Pan de Manila, Saud Beach Resort, Splash Island, Starmaker, TMS Shipping and Vein Care are the other backers of the event.
Mitsubishi Motors VP for marketing Mel Dizon, Diamond Motors president George Blaylock, Royal Caribbean president Marilen Yaptangco, Korean Air’s Song Sik Yum, El Nido’s Eduardo Miranda and Samsung president Spencer Shim have been invited to grace the affair.
"On behalf of Southwoods chairman Robert John Sobrepeña, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all the sponsors who continuously support our tournaments and programs," added Mendoza.
