Each side of 32 players will duel in the alternate shot format in today’s first round, then return tomorrow for the best-ball scramble before the tourney winds up Thursday with the singles competition.
Leading the Red team in the tourney also supported by Philippine Airlines and Unilever are Cyna Rodriguez. Crystal Superal and Paulina Sotto as captains while Aaron Dimabuyu, Wolen Superal and Steven Limandibrata spearhead the Blue squad.
The Superals are coming off with impressive wins in last week’s Jungolf Club Championships where Wolen bagged the overall individual plum in Division II play at Camp Aquinaldo while Crystal prevailed in the Class B division at Mt. Malarayat.
This marks the first time that the Ryder Cup format is being used in the summer circuit, a move which Jungolf president Raoul Lachica was intended to instill the value of teamwork to the kids as well as exposing them to different formats.
