Kay Tagal Kitang Hinintay" was Bea Alonzo’s first big break in the realm of soap opera. She made a name for herself as a young actress with much potential in that drama series. So naturally, when news about its end reached her, she was wary of her career. Luckily "It Might Be You" happened and it sustained her dramatic prowess in television drama. Now after two successful soap operas behind her, Bea Alonzo has another entry to write about in her diary, if ever she keeps one. Her next TV project is deemed her biggest so far because in it is a powerhouse cast that includes Claudine Barretto, Diether Ocampo, Angelika dela Cruz and Shaina Magdayao. It also reunites her with her love team mate John Lloyd Cruz. Entitled "Ikaw Ang Lahat Sa Akin," it is already began taped.
"I will always have fears whenever my TV show ends. But I know that as long as I have faith I will be fine wherever my career takes me," she explained.
And so far her faith has brought her success not only in her television stints but in the movies as well. Bea’s successful movies are "Dreamboy," "Now That I Have You" and "First Romance."
In showbiz she learned that even if you are becoming popular and being recognized as a star material, you just can’t be complacent about your career.
"You just can’t take it easy even if you are successful already. You just have to work hard in every project you get. I’m just glad that I’ve worked with good and talented people in the business. I feel so lucky," she expressed.
The 18-year-old is proving to be not only lucky in showbiz. She also has a string of product endorsements and one of them is for Advance Paper Company. The actress who has appeared in several covers of the company’s notebooks is also now it’s image model for its Advance gel pens.
Being a role model to young people, this product is up her alley as she promotes the affordable and reliable Advance gel pens to students and her young fans. Bea’s success at a very young age has caught the attention of the pen manufacturer. The company execs believe that she could well carry their brand as she also serves as an inspiration to their target markets. Advance Paper has been known to use showbiz personalities on the covers of its notebooks. The owners are proud to have Bea Alonzo as their first gel pen celebrity endorser.
Like in the other products she has become an image model of, Bea’s first and foremost reason for accepting any endorsement project is belief in the product. "I have to believe in it first," she stressed. She knows how hard life is nowadays so she’d rather push products that are affordable yet of good quality.
On the personal side, Bea said she is still waiting for Mr. Right. According to her she is the type who doesn’t just fall in love with a love team mate or a movie partner. She has stressed that she is not stopping herself from falling in love, but she is just waiting for the right person to come along.
"Ayaw ko ng fling because love is a special feeling na bigay ni Lord. That means, hindi ito dapat pinaglalaruan. Ayaw kong mawala ang true meaning of love kaya inaantay kong dumating siya sa buhay ko. This is the greatest gift of God so ayaw kong sayangin," Bea said with a smile.
Taking her time and taking care when it comes to love matters is but natural for Bea since she comes from a broken family.
"Ayaw kong mangyari sa akin ang pagkakamali ng parents ko. Mahirap magkaroon ng broken family. Kaya kung magkakapamilya ako dapat complete!"
Bea Alonzo’s future is bright in the world of showbiz. It can be expected that the young actress will have a lot to write about in her memoirs using her gel pens. Her relationship with Advance Paper Company is getting stronger and more endorsing projects are already being lined up for her. What’s one of her showbiz goals?

A bigger and better
Mossimo Bikini Summit in 2005
Who says you can’t take a good thing and make it better? That’s exactly what Cast & Crew has done with the Mossimo Bikini Summit, the country’s biggest and most prestigious summer event.
For the first time since 2002 the annual bikini contest will be held live in Manila, a departure from its usual venue in Boracay. The 2005 Mossimo Bikini Summit will be held in grand style at the Araneta Coliseum, venue of some of Metro Manila’s biggest concerts and events.
For this year’s contest, Mossimo has tapped the services of award-winning set designer Gino Gonzalez who has created a set, the likes of which has never been seen in any bikini pageant in the country.
This edition of MBS is also unprecedented in the number of performers who will be gracing the finals night. Over 15 artists of various musical genres—from alternative to pop—will grace the finals night on April 30, including acoustic artists Kitchie Nadal, Jimmy Bondoc and Pido, Jett Pangan of the rock band The Dawn, Pido, fast-rising belter Rebekah, up-and-coming band Velcro, rap group Sun Valley Crew, Manila’s original "Soul Queen" Ella May Saison and singing champions Frenchie Dy and Rachelle Ann Go.
This will also be the first time that a total of 32 contestants—16 males and 16 females—will be competing for the title and a host of prizes that includes cash and other valuable contracts. This year’s finalists are Kathleen Deen, Ericka Fontanilla, Larah Monterola, Rexcy Mino, Ashley Spencer, Jouella Khonghun, Denise Montecillo, Jane Tuazon, Abigaile Rangasajo, Jeffrey Mairim Gaitan, Liz Camering, Tricia Marie Intong, Kristine Marie Lim, Jasmine Maierhofer, Anna Rose Jebb, Mariam Corral, Einar Ingebrigtsen, Joseph Salomon, Mico Areglado, Carlos Concepcion, Eri Neeman, Kevin Haaland, Ramon del Prado, Brian Canilao, Benj Capay, Martin Jickain, Paul Tumulak, Harly Ng, Joshua Ylaya, Donald Tan, Handrew Maxilom and Kerwin Yap.
Also, this will be the first year that the contest will be open to co-branding. Aside from Mossimo swimwear, which will be exclusively designed by Ricky Vicencio, the 32 contestants will also be donning Arena swimwear alongside the creations of designers Mel Vergel de Dios, Ivarluski Aseron and Joey Samson, with the over-all supervision of top stylist Noel Manapat.
But perhaps the biggest difference is in this year’s concept. Mossimo Bikini Summit will feature a "wildcard" entries where finalists from 2003 and 2004 will come back to fight it out for the title against the new contenders.
With all the innovations the organizers are introducing, this year’s contest is bound to be the biggest and the best yet. The Mossimo Bikini Summit 2005 is presented by Arena Swimwear, Discovery Suites and Prime Shift on RPN in cooperation with Nestlé Fitness Cereal, Nestle 0% Fat Yoghurt and Gold’s Gym with majors sponsors Photoline, Cebu Pacific, SECS In Boracay and minor sponsors Karat World, Mossimo Underneath, Manila Bulletin, Vivere Salon, VNC, Puma, STI Global City, Gold’s Gym Body Shop, Compass Internet, and the bars from Boracay—Cocomangas, Summerplace and Pier One.
