Honda Cars Phils. gets a new president

Honda Cars Philippines, Inc., announced recently the arrival of its new president and general manager, Takashi Sekiguchi, who assumed office April 1. Mr. Sekiguchi is filling the post formerly held by Mr. Mitsunari Takano, who has been reassigned at a new post in Japan.

Mr. Sekiguchi has been with Honda for more than a decade. He graduated from the prestigious Meiji University, Japan in 1982 with a degree in Commerce. He joined Honda Motor Co. Ltd. (Honda head office) in 1988 and has been assigned to various posts abroad.

After working at the North America Sales Department at the head office in Japan, he was sent to American Honda Motor Co. Ltd., USA in 1996.

After six years, he was sent back to Japan to handle Automobile Product Planning and subsequently sent to Asian Honda Motor Co., Ltd in Thailand to oversee the Asia-Oceania Automobile Division.

"I am very excited to work here in the Philippines. I look forward to working closely with the Honda team, our dealers, business partners and government sectors. Above all, I will concentrate on building upon the successes of Honda and commit to strengthening Honda’s position in the market, by providing our customers quality-built cars and the highest customer satisfaction," he said.
