Lhuillier 5 snaps Parañaque streak

SOUTHEAST Asian Games contender RP-Cebuana Lhuillier blasted Vice Mayor and actor/tv host Anjo Yllana’s Parañaque Jets, 114-88, Friday night to remain unbeaten in the Spring Cooking Oil-NBC final north pre-season basketball series at the PJL gym in Las Piñas.

Former UST standout Don Rez Villamin scattered 23 points to power the Jean Henri Lhuillier-backed Nationals to their third straight victory while halting the Jets’ three-game winning run.

Despite the loss, the Jets still managed to earn a shot at RP-Cebuana Lhuillier for the title at 6 p.m. today at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

Earlier, Bacoor Vice Mayor Edwin Malvar’s Cavite Insurers turned back Laguna Spring, 82-74, to arrange a meeting with Mayor Freddie Tinga’s Forward Taguig for third place in the BAP-sanctioned series at 4 p.m. today.

High-flying veteran Reuben dela Rosa and Jeffrey Bombeo also sparkled for RP-Cebuana Lhuillier ith 20 and 17 points, respectively.
