MULTI-TITLED DRIVER Jody Coseteng of the Havoline Racing Team is ready for another dominant show when the 2005 Philippine National Touring Car Championships erupts on Sunday to signal another blazing start of the motor racing season at the Batangas Racing Circuit.

Coseteng, who is undoubtedly one of the greatest circuit-drivers in history of local racing, if not the greatest, will again show the stuff of legends aboard his Honda Civic in the premier N1 event of PNTCC, site of his amazing triumph last season.

The five-time Driver of the Year will again be a marked man but with the all-out support of the Havoline Racing Team and the world-class potency of Havoline’s fully synthetic oil, Coseteng might just snare his sixth Driver of the Year plum from among a host of contenders to his crown.

"Every year, it gets harder and harder. We have world-class drivers competing and improving here every year. Everyone will be after my scalp. But my experience and passion for excellence will serve me in good stead,’’ said Coseteng, who is backed by strong sponsors Caltex Havoline and San Miguel Beer.

"Plus, I have Havoline oil to keep my engine running smoothly and efficiently even at extreme, blistering conditions.’’

Whatever the outcome of this season’s BRC races, Coseteng’s place in history is secured.

A three-time awardee of the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA), Coseteng missed last year’s first two rounds and had a DNF (did not finish) in Round 3 but still ran away with the centerpiece N1 championship to underscore his dominance in the circuit.
