Powered By DIGIC II

Both the Digital IXUS 700 and IXUS 50 are powered by Canon’s exclusive DIGIC II imaging processor for high quality images with natural colour reproductions and razor sharp clarity at faster processing speed. The DIGIC II imaging processor at the heart of both Digital IXUS 700 and IXUS 50 delivers faster AF speed, data transfer speed and shorter startup time. Images captured now looks more vivid and sharper, bringing the new Digital IXUS duo a class above its competitors.

Superb Camera Functions

For the first time in Canon digital cameras, the Digital IXUS 700 and IXUS 50 come with the new “My Colors Function”. Up to 9 exciting colours modes such as the Colour Swap, Colour Accent and Vivid Blue can be selected by the user to enhance or play around with colours of their subjects to their desire. Users can select and replace the colours of any object in the digital photo in real-time! Hence saving the hassle of retouching the images via the computer as you can get and see the effect instantly even before capturing the shot! Using Colour Swap, a person wearing a yellow shirt can be changed to having a red shirt in the image, and the effect can be seen in the viewfinder prior to taking the image. This Canon proprietary technology works not just for still images but also in movie mode.

Another innovative technology included in both cameras is the Jump function, which allows users to browse and search through images quickly and easily based on a specific search key instead of the conventional way of scrolling through the pictures one by one.

Users will now be able to activate digital zoom while shooting movies (in standard mode only) with the two new Digital IXUS cameras, allowing them to zoom in without needing to physically move closer or further from the subject. Your digital video shot will never be boring again as you can play around the visuals with zoom in close-up to wide shots.

Both Digital IXUS 700 and IXUS 50 feature 9-point AiAF with high-speed autofocus that allows the camera to accurately determine the point of focus in an image even if the subject is not in the centre of the composition ensuring pin-sharp images.

Shooting through the LCD is now easier with the two new functions- Quick-bright LCD and Night Display Function found in both Digital IXUS 700 and IXUS 50. The Quick-bright LCD helps to solve the problem of low LCD visibility in daytime shooting, while the Night Display function makes subjects easier to view in nighttime shooting by allowing the user to check the framing before taking the shot.

Connectivity

Both Digital IXUS 700 and IXUS 50 supports High-speed USB 2.0 data transfer; this allows users to transfer heavy files from the camera to the computer in a breeze!

Giving you more connectivity options, the Digital IXUS 700 and IXUS 50 supports direct connectivity and transfer to both Windows and Mac computers (Mac OS X v10.1.5 – v10.3) using the Print/Share button. With this button, time can be saved during downloading, making the whole process to be quick and easy.

Best of all, both Digital IXUS 700 and IXUS 50 cameras are PictBridge compatible allowing users to print directly to any brand of printers that is PictBridge compatible. Both Digital IXUS 700 and IXUS 50 support three PictBridge Print functions, which are “Fixed Size Print”, “ File Name Print” and “N-Layout”. When used with Canon Compact Photo Printer, both cameras also support ID Photo Print and Movie Print. With the former enabling user to crop recorded image to the required size of ID size for passport and driving licenses while the latter allows user to print a series of stills from his or her favourite recorded movies.
