Fears of power rate hike due to okay of VAT bill allayed
Senate Minority Leader Aquilino "Nene" Q. Pimentel, Jr. (PDP-Laban) allayed yesterday fears of consumers that the lifting of the Value Added Tax (VAT) exemption of the power sector would trigger sharp increases in their electricity bill.

Arroyo leads rites for Palarong Bikol 2005

1,098 hurdle gov’t examination for midwives
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced yesterday that 1,098 out of 2,063 passed the Midwife Licensure Examination given by the Board of Midwifery in Manila and Cebu, Legazpi, and Zamboanga cities this month.
