An Adult Vaccination campaign was officially launched recently to prevent adult morbidity due to communicable diseases.


Through the years, studies have shown the importance of touch in positively affecting a child’s growth and development. In the United States for instance, the Touch Research Institutes at the University of Miami School of Medicine had conducted various studies that significantly show how touch – particularly massage – had enhanced the growth of pre-term infants, reduced pain, enhanced immune systems, and induced better sleep patterns.


My son is an incoming college freshman in one of the exclusive schools in Metro Manila. We were told that all incoming students are required to undergo testing for illegal drugs. How effective are these drug tests in identifying drug users? What drugs can be detected by these tests? Can these tests detect all illegal drugs? Are those required of students the same tests required of applicants for driver’s licenses? Isn’t mandatory drug testing a violation of human rights? — Jimmy T., Cavite City
