Presenting a special mix of multi-platform offerings—from films to events, from TV specials to tri-media ads, Star Magic blasts off into greater showbiz horizons this season.
One – A sparkling, all-star Flores de Mayo brightened the streets of Manila early this month, with gown and barong clad young artists taking part in the nation’s traditional parade of the proud and the fairest.
Two – Hit the cinemas for tickets to special new offerings from Star Cinema. After the box-office success of Hero and Sandara’s "Can This Be Love," Star Cinema now presents "Nasaan Ka Man," topbilling Star Magic primes Claudine Barretto, Diether Ocampo and Jericho Rosales. In production now are films starring John Lloyd Cruz, Bea Alonzo, Angelica Panganiban, Heart Evangelista, Kristine Hermosa, Piolo Pascual and other Star Magic artists.
Three – Go live with Star Magic together with Star Cinema in a wild series of live stage performances in malls and public venues everywhere in Metro Manila and in key cities across the nation. Years of crowd-drawing events that feature Star Magic artists have promoted successful film outings, TV shows and merchandise. Coming up is a flurry of exciting appearances by big stars from ABS-CBN Star Magic, on days and locations soon to be announced.
Four – Listen to the airwaves as Star Records releases brand new music and hit songs featuring Star Magic artists Karel Marquez, Maoui David, and Cherry Lou (now for a solo album). Live concerts wait in the wings for balladeer-actor Piolo Pascual, as well as TV drama star Heart Evangelista who is now ready to reveal her musical side. For telecast soon, wait up for Sandara Park’s Krung Krung TV special on ABS-CBN for some guaranteed fun and entertainment.
Five – Star Magic takes pride in the cast of its new soap opera block of ABS-CBN. Claudine Barretto, John Lloyd Cruz, Bea Alonzo, Shaina Magdayao, Angelika dela Cruz and Diether Ocampo lead the powerhouse cast of the "Ikaw Ang Lahat Sa Akin," the newest of the prime teleseryes on air today. "Anghel Na Walang Langit" features the youngest artists in the Star Magic brood, cross-cultural drama "Vietnam Rose" stars Angelica Panganiban, and the remake of the Filipino classic "Kampanerang Kuba" presents Jodi Sta. Maria and Patrick Garcia in new roles and "Ang Panday" with Jericho Rosales.
Six – Reality TV just got younger and wilder! TV audiences now get into match-making by helping nine "love princesses" find their prince charmings. "QPIDS," the newest television outing of the newest stars of ABS-CBN Star Magic, premieres on May 23. The show’s new team-ups may just be next year’s biggest box-office love tandems.
Seven – If you think Heart Evangelista is the new queen of highway billboards, see whose face will lighten up city traffic in the next year or so. More impressive advertising are due to feature Piolo Pascual, Bernard Palanca, Claudine Barretto, Angelica Panganiban, Karel Marquez, and other Star Magic artists, whose endorsements have sold millions of products for their loyal clients throughout the years. Just as Vanessa del Bianco globally endorsed Head & Shoulders, Star Circle 11 girl Carla Humphries Loren is now the new tri-media image model for a major shampoo brand in the Asia-Pacific region. Always with top-of-mind recall, these kids keep business in the city booming, and there’s more to see this coming season.
Eight – ABS-CBN is set to air "Certified: Star Magic," a very special television documentary on ABS-CBN Star Magic, from its beginnings as Talent Center with "Ang TV" in the late 90s, through the Star Circle batches, and its myriad of successes throughout the years. Cinema and TV royalty Dolphy, Kris Aquino, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Maricel Soriano, and other veteran stars take turns annotating how these Star Magic kids brightened the entertainment scene and made each project a milestone production. The documentary will be telecast tonight right after "TV Patrol World."
Nine – The new Star Magic documentary is a tantalizing new music video, bringing together the 170 stars of ABS-CBN Star Magic in an energetic display of music, dance and wit. Directed by Malou Sevilla, supervised by Star Magic SVP Johnny Manahan, the music video’s full and edited versions will play on ABS-CBN and MYX in the succeeding months.
Ten – Culminating many weeks of "ASAP Full Circle" musical segments on the hot Sunday concert show "ASAP," Star Magic presents three solid, action-packed musical segments on May 29, with songs, dances, and incredible showtime energy from television’s brightest young stars.
Eleven – Meet Star Circle Batch 13 when Star Magic celebrates its 13th year on "ASAP" on May 29! Coming from a long line of young homegrown idols, 13 new artist units (a total of 22 new talents) add up to the biggest constellation of TV and movie stars in Asia. Featuring the celebrity kids of veteran stars like Joey Marquez, Isabel Lopez and Philip Cezar, new star blood is pumped into this batch. Star Circle 13 also includes a bunch of stellar singing talents—five R&B singers, and a young diva who’ve shunned offers from Warner Bros. and other recording companies in the US, just to make it big out here in homeland Manila. Along with other promising talented lookers scooped from major modeling agencies and performing groups in the country, Star Circle 13 is a launch to look forward to.
Twelve – Celebrate the sterling chapters in the young lives of the Star Magic Princesses in very special TV events in the coming months. Radiant Shaina Magdayao comes of age in a Sweet Sixteen party on air to be telecast soon. Bea Alonzo celebrates her debut with the sheer pageantry of an all-star traditional coutillon sometime this next quarter. And the wedding of ABS-CBN Star Magic’s first-born star Claudine Barretto and Raymart Santiago will be seen on a much-awaited Grand Wedding Celebration in early 2006.
Thirteen – ABS-CBN Star Magic goes global as its artists now share international prominence with stars all over the world. Luna Awards (FAP) Best Actress Claudine Barretto and award-winning actor Piolo Pascual are in France to grace the prestigious Cannes Film Festival and represent our local film industry. Heart Evangelista and John Lloyd Cruz are set to shoot episodes of "Maalaala Mo Kaya" in San Francisco, USA. Teleserye stars Jericho Rosales and Kristine Hermosa are now two of the biggest television drama stars in Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei and in other nations in the region and across the globe, thanks to the high-rating telecasts of "Pangako Sa Yo," and "Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas" in these countries. A mid-year concert and special engagements with Malay royalty in Kota Kinabalu and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia await Echo and Kristine. Jericho, the first certified regional TV star of ABS-CBN, is scheduled to shoot for a film project in Belgium and Malaysia for a documentary drama on the life of the Malay monarchy. After stardom in the Philippines, young pop idol Sandara Park flies back to her home country of Korea to work with YG International Korea, and make big waves as well in recording and entertainment. Piolo Pascual will soon embark on a South East Asian tour for Diadora. Dominic Ochoa and Nikki Valdes will be in Dubai for live performances. Claudine Barretto and John Lloyd Cruz joins Aga Muhlach in Dubai for a Star Cinema movie shoot and its eventual world premiere.
