In celebration of this important milestone, Asian Hospital and Bumrungrad International recently held a launch party at The Peninsula Manila Hotel, attended by the two institutions’ top executives including Bumrungrad International Chairman Chai Sophonpanich and Asian Hospital Founding Chairman Dr. Jorge Garcia.

During the event, Dr. Garcia remarked that Bumrungrad International "brings to Asian Hospital a wealth of management experience, as well as expertise in key areas such as total quality management and information technology." Bumrungrad International is the first hospital in Asia awarded Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) and has been recognized by leading IT companies, like Intel and Microsoft, for its state-of-the-art hospital information system.

A regional healthcare company based in Bangkok, Thailand and active in clinical care, teaching, and research, Bumrungrad International also manages topnotch healthcare facilities in the Asian region.

Through this partnership, Bumrungrad International hopes to add more to what the Asian Hospital has accomplished by bringing in significant technological advancements. First in its plans is the building of Asian Hospital’s second phase, which will expand its patient capacity from 258 bedrooms to 500. Also to be given priority is the implementation of a fully digitized Information System that enables fast processing and sharing of data such as laboratory results and the like.

Both Asian Hospital and Bumrungrad International are confident that the new partnership will help position the Asian Hospital as a top regional medical center. This alliance between two of Asia’s leading medical institutions undoubtedly augurs well for the Philippine medical landscape as it strives to provide world-class hospital care.
