Investments in the IT sector had jumped to $147 million which benefited the Philippines and generated some 28,600 new jobs in 2004. However, in Southeast Asia, the Philippines is at the bottom with 4 percent in terms of the percentage share in IT and ITES projects. India has the highest percentage share with 36 percent, followed by China with 21 percent and Singapore with 15 percent.
