Oracle® E-Business Suite Enhancements to Deliver More Extensive, Industry-Specific Functionalities and Intelligence to Businesses

Oracle (Philippines) Corporation announced the availability of the Oracle E-Business Suite 11i.10, the latest version of its flagship family of integrated business applications.

Pegged to be Oracle’s strongest release ever, this enhanced and most complete E-Business Suite will cover business applications that would automate many critical back-end and front-end business functions, in particular Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Supply Chain Management (SCM), and Customer Relationship Management (CRM).

These critical processes will be well provided for with Oracle E-Business Suite 11i.10’s key enhancements that include functionality-rich industry solutions, continued expansion of horizontal offerings, integrated performance management, and low cost of integration and deployment.

Besides being the world’s leading database technology company, Oracle has more than 23,000 such applications customers all over the world and across many industries who use Oracle E-Business Suite.

“Oracle E-Business Suite 11i.10 brings to our customers enhancements that are critical to their businesses,” said Yashi Kant, managing director at Oracle Philippines. “We have come a long way for this latest version of the Oracle E-Business Suite, especially with its new industry-specific functionalities, alongside business intelligence, industry breadth and depth.”

Kant added that many companies are now realizing the need to leverage on world-class technology and applications because it greatly reduces IT complexity and produces a “single, integrated source of truth” for organizations to manage customers, products and suppliers.

“This is what Information Architecture is all about ─ companies are now acknowledging the complexity and limitations that govern today’s enterprise IT environments. With Oracle, they can finally just go to one vendor for both world-class data management and integration technologies as well as a full suite of applications.”

Only Oracle has the most complete set of enterprise applications integrated around a single, common data model. Oracle is able to deliver business intelligence information and transactional information in the same system, enabling customers to have a real-time view into the health of their business at a dramatically lower cost than traditional intelligence projects.

With Oracle E-Business Suite 11i.10, Oracle has significantly expanded the capabilities of oracle Daily Business Intelligence, which will feature 82% more reports, 53% more key measurements, as well as 13% more role-specific dashboards. Customers will be able to get a lot more useful information from their business systems as a result.

Each industry has its own specific requirements and challenges. To ensure that its applications address these requirements, Oracle works closely with customers and industry-specific user groups to help drive development of product enhancements abased on specific industry needs and issues. The industries Oracle works with are very varied, and the ones that have been targeted specifically in oracle E-Business Suite 11i.10 are: aerospace and defense, automotive, chemicals, communications, consumer products, energy, healthcare, high technology, industrial manufacturing, life sciences, public sector, retail, travel and transportation and utilities.

“The Oracle E-Business Suite 11i.10 is truly our strongest release ever,” added Kant. “We look forward that our customers here in the Philippines will continue on leveraging on our solutions most especially for managing their information.

One of Oracle E-Business Suite 11i.10’s key enhancements is that it has been specifically tailored for some key industries. The following examples show just how industry-specific this latest enhanced application could get.

Oracle E-Business Suite 11i.10 has new features to help communications service providers improve efficiency, reduce costs and maximize customer value. Oracle Telecommunications Service Ordering will feature enhanced order management capabilities, tighter integration with Oracle Telco Provisioning, and very importantly, pre-packaged interfaces between Oracle E-Business Suite and third-party billing systems. This will help communications service providers automate more telecommunications ordering processes, as well as help reduce order errors and lower total cost of ownership.

The Oracle Customer Insight for Telecommunications module features enhancements to Oracle Marketing Online, including improved marketing analytics and additional predictive modeling capabilities that will allow communications service providers to improve customer insight via a single view of installed services and facilitate effective cross-sell and up-sell campaigns.

Oracle E-Business Suite 11i.10 features new functionality that spans multiple manufacturing sectors and helps organizations increase operational efficiency and streamline compliance with industry and regulatory requirements.

Oracle E-Business Suite 11i.10 features new functionality designed to help public sector organizations minimize their exposure to contractual risks, improve contract management, maximize buying power and eliminate payment errors.

Project Fusion ─ code-name for Oracle’s next generation applications, integration and architecture solutions ─ is scheduled for release in 2008. Many of the core Fusion building blocks will be built into the next release of Oracle E-Business Suite as well as PeopleSoft Enterprise 9 and J.D. Edwards 8.12.

“Project Fusion is Oracle’s long-term commitment to provide customers with access to the technologies, services, and resources that can revolutionize their business,” said Kant. “Project Fusion will provide organizations with the enterprise-wide business intelligence needed for improved decision making. Project Fusion will also provide adaptive business processes that allow organizations to rapidly adjust to changing market conditions and competitive threats, at the lowest total cost of ownership by any enterprise software provider.”

“Most importantly, Project Fusion is not a concept but a reality, based on technologies such as Java, service-oriented architectures, master data consolidation, and grid computing,” concluded Kant.
