Get the party started
I was able to transfer songs only when I installed the system using the provided CD. A 2.0 USB cable also comes with the package. You can choose between importing music into your Zen Micro, ripping audio CD tracks, or transferring data between a PC and your player. When I tried transferring my music, each song took about one minute to transfer. This is so easy, and there’s no need for a user’s manual. Just follow the instructions on the installer and the party can be started in no time.
And each time I connect my player to my PC, the player automatically charges its battery.
All night long
The Creative Zen Micro boasts a 12-hour battery life. I tested it and found that out that the makers weren’t kidding. I left it playing overnight as I slept and was amazed to wake up and it was still faithfully playing my songs.
Sharing the night together
The Creative Zen Micro also comes with a sleep timer and alarm. Even if you want to be put to sleep by playing a solemn worship song, you might want to wake up at 5 in the morning the next day by playing a loud, praise, rock and roll song by United Live.
Mr. DJ, may I make a request?
The Creative Zen Micro also allows the user to play music in the order the user wants. Play your chosen lists, or play music by Album, by Artist, Genre, by bookmark or seek the help of Mr. DJ. The player’s DJ allows you choose the Album of the day, or you can use the player’s Random play, or you can just play the Most Popular Tracks or the Rarely Heard Songs.
All by myself
The Creative Zen Micro allows the user to be creative so that you can customize your player’s menu. You can select your favorite features and have it set up in the opening menu, depending on the order you want. Aside from that, there are a variety of audio settings to choose from Custom Equalizer, Acoustic, Classical, Disco, Jazz, New Age, Pop and Voice among others.
Sometimes when we touch
With its touch pad, you can make the Creative Zen Micro your own slave. It follows your thumbs desires whether to play or pause a song, play back or move on to the next track. Scroll the menu up or down and just hit the back button if you feel lost. But be careful because the button is so sensitive that even the slightest brush can command your player to pause, or go to the next album. The best thing to do is to go to the system menu, click the player setting, look for touch pad, and adjust it from High to Low Sensitivity. Or better yet, just lock the touch pad!
My way
If your player is connected to your PC, you can’t access it through its touch pad. You just have to use the mouse. I think it is better to use the PC mouse when organizing music in your Zen Micro and creating play lists rather than scrolling via the touch pad.
Inserting Addresses in your Contacts and Tasks on your Calendar can only be done through your PC connection.
Of all the things
Creative Zen Micro, so far, is the only mp3 player with an Organizer menu wherein you can view a calendar, see if you have scheduled event or task at hand and insert contacts.
Aside from that, it has a FM radio feature, which I was able to listen to, with 32 preset stations. If you don’t want to miss hearing when the DJ announces your love quote for the day, then the Record Radio will come in handy for you.
The Zen Micro also has a built in microphone where you can record a song from an external player or even make a recording of your voice. But you cannot sing along with it since the player stops playing songs when the Recorder is in use. Too bad, I thought, but I was evaluating an mp3 player and not a karaoke machine.
Bluer than blue
Designed with a glowing blue backlight, back lit buttons and a player lining, the Creative Zen Micro proved itself to be the trendiest and cleverest mp3 player on the market. The player’s round edges make it easy to hold, and its shiny exterior also adds to its beauty. All of my friends who saw it were fascinated by its looks and I must say that they haven’t seen (or heard) everything yet.
Take me, I’ll follow
The Creative Zen Micro has superior audio quality, super good looks and an impressive package! From its superb, soft earphones and exceptional audio quality, this player must be experienced wherever you go. I’ve used it with a neck strap but I found it a little heavy so I just clipped it on my belt. I can even make it stand between the matching speakers that come with the player. It also comes with a sleek black pouch, which will make your player scratch resistant when inside a bag. A wired remote control can also be used to navigate it
You got it all
The Creative Zen Micro comes in apple green, orange, black, violet, pink, dark and sky blue, white and red; all are definitely cool.
Now, can I just say that the closer I get to the Creative Zen Micro, the more I fall in love with it?
