A sticker on the AL1751’s screen says “ultra-fast”. And it is with a response time of 8 milliseconds making it an ideal monitor for gaming and watching videos and has none of the streaking or trailing effects and ghosting images associated with monitors with slower response times.
The monitor is light at 5 kilos, is compact, and easy to set up. It has inputs for a computer, DVD, and audio and its on-screen display is user-friendly. It can also be mounted on a wall with a mount hole and special hinges on the base bottom.
It is definitely stylish and a welcome fixture on any computer table because it occupies very little space and leaves plenty of room for clutter. This is the reason why I warmly welcomed this product because now I have space for my notebook, my bag, my CDs, my thermal mug, and paper on my computer table.
While early LCD monitors have limited viewing angles such that with a simple head movement the screen goes blank already, the AL1751 has a 150 degrees viewing angle. A feature that makes it perfect for watching movies with the whole family or with co-workers, just make sure you’re not caught.
The monitor’s specs say it has built-in speakers but the first time I tried viewing a movie, there was no sound at all. I went over the unit very closely, trying to feel the speakers but everything was smooth. Unless I didn’t look close enough.
It’s a bit pricey for a monitor considering that one can buy at least four CRT’s with one AL1751 but it’s value for money; LCDs have a long life span. And I’ll opt for one over a CRT anytime if only I had the moolah.
