This blogger's name is Bernard/Bernadette and as the title of his site goes, he is a full-fledged "Third Sex in the City." Visiting the blog, one's eye is immediately caught by a collage of celebrity photos of Cher, Madonna, Boy George and Barbra Streisand, among others. Asked about the inclusion of Imelda Marcos, Margaret Thatcher, Cory Aquino and Mother Theresa to the collage, our featured blogger says they also represent the "gay icons" of "her" generation. Bernard's site, found at http://badinggerzie.blogspot.com first caught everyone's attention when it did a translation of "Batman Begins" and "Star Wars" in that wacky and engaging "gay style" that has become its author's trademark. Then last June, she also did a gay translation of President Arroyo's controversial "I Am Sorry" statement which was a hit with her readers and was even picked up by other sites. Ordinary blog hoppers may find it "mind-boggling" to cope with all the gay terminology being used in the blog but there's no stopping Bernard/Bernadette from showing the world how it is to be gay, with its concomitant heartaches, joys and pains.
Q. Please tell us something about yourself. Who is the person behind the blog?
A. Well, wala naman nang iba kundi akez ang nasa likodstra ng blog ever, my name is Bernard . . . isang full-blown badinggerzie. Simpleng tao, may mga pangangailangan, nagda-drama kung minsa pero parating masaya. Kaya nga gay ako eh. Echoz. Non sequitur 'noh?!
Q. What is your blog all about? What "life stories" can we find here?
A. From the title itself, may idea na kayo, isa itong buhay ng isang third sex living in the city. Basic things . . . . same things that are happening to you right now, same experiences and same hopes compared to heterosexual people. It will be seen in this blog how "homosexuality" had evolved through time.
Also, you will find out the deepest thoughts and yearnings of one homosexual.
My struggles living with my brother, my friends, my work . . . . and of course, the never ending quest to find where in the bloody world is my true love.
Of course, there are carnal things on the side. *winks
Q. What were your objectives in putting up your blog?
A. As I mentioned earlier my main objectives is for people (first, second, third, ad infinitum sex) to have a look and idea on how a gay guy lives. And also to put smiles on people's faces. Iba talaga ang feeling kapag alam mong nakakapagpasaya ka ng ibang tao. Basically, I just want to share what's happening in my colorful world at somehow, when people read it, nagkaka-color din ang world nila. Mostly, pink!
Q. Did you design your blog or somebody designed it for you? What's the relevance of the celebrity photos on your front page?
A. My friend designs my blog for me at kung anik-anik pang mga ka-chervahan na andon, I just write my stuff, tapos bigay ko sa kanya, he does everything na.Yung mga girls sa banner, it is actually a combined idea, mine and my site admin, we consider the girls there as the gay icons of our generation, one way or the other they made something very different, very remarkable, very gay, that is worth noting. Just think of Madonna, she had survived years and years in the public eye, she's the epitome of gay icon, she embodies everything.
Q. Some of your readers say they find it hard to understand the gay lingo you use in your blog. Do you plan to change your style anytime soon, like make the language softer and easier to understand?
A. Well, yes, I've received several feedbacks about that. But for me, I guess that makes me original and that makes the entries more exciting, the gay lingo, it's authentic and funny. There's a bit of a challenge da 'vah? Hindi lahat naman ng bagay sa mundo eh nagegetching mo lang ng basta-basta. Mas maganda naman eh kahit may kaunting effort. Anyway, I'm planning to make a collection of my entries soon, translated into English.
Q. What interesting feedbacks have you received from your readers?
A. Lahat ng feedback eh interesting, bawat comment, bawat email, bawat message sa tagboard eh nakakapagpa-lubag ng loob yung tipong, hihinga ka ng malalim, smile and say .... "ang ganda-ganda ko talaga! Echoz" Seriously, masarap ang feeling na nafi-feel mong people are interested and actually learning from your life and how they relate they experiences din from what is happening to me. Kung interesting at interesting din ang pag-uusapan, I have to admit na I receive a couple of "indecent proposals" in my inbox. *winks*
Q. Who among the 'Sex and the City' characters are closest to who you are: Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte or Samantha?
Of course, I can say that I'm a Carrie . . . . .not because I can write, but then bet ko ang mga eksena niya in the quest for true love. I'd say Samantha, sana but . . . hehehe . . . hindi naman ganon kadalas madiligan ng suka ang nauuhaw na lumpia.
Q. Any more plans for your blog?
A. As of the moment, hindi pa naten alam kung anu ang mga eksenang maaari pang maganap. Eynimomentz di ba? Pero I'm planning to write on it as long as my heart and sanity can take it. I always, put some special corners or special features paminsan-minsa para hindi naman sobrang nakakaboring at nakakasawa at puro na lang buhay 'nung veklus ang na-re-read ever da vah?

Wala naman na akong ma-chichika, lahat na nang bet kong ichika eh na-ichika ko na sa blog ko ever. I just want to make people understand that girl, boy, bakla, tomboy, kalabaw, baboy ka man eh pare-parehas tayo ng pinagdadaanan ever . . . . mas maganda na instead mag-punahan tayo eh mag-tulungan at initindihin ang isa't isa ever.
