Dissolve that clot…fast!

With the mortality rate of the human race rising up every turn of the century due to ailments caused either by nature or men themselves, the quest for that miraculous medicine that could prolong life has been the only thing that’s constant. Throughout the quest for that ultimate cure to all diseases, it is no wonder more and more people are turning to healthy lifestyles and alternative remedies, the latter being the more prevalent.

Although food supplements is not a totally new concept in the market, the number of products targeting specific illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, stroke, arthritis and the like, none of which have zeroed in on blood clots.

BLOOD CLOT DEFINED

Medical experts define blood clotting as a natural process where blood cells and fibrin strands clump together to stop bleeding after a blood vessel has been injured. Eventually the clot will form a protective scab over a wounded blood vessel, allowing it to heal. If the body did not have the ability to form blood clots, people would bleed to death after even a minor cut.

Sometimes, however, blood clots form even when a person has not been injured. Although most blood clots tend to dissolve on their own with no long-term problems, there are situations in which blood clots can cause medical problems. It becomes dangerous when blood flow is blocked through an artery or vein. When this occurs, a heart attack or stroke may result. Moreover, blood clots can also block veins and arteries throughout the body, causing diseases that range from varicose veins to life-threatening pulmonary embolism.

"Blood Clots are usually seen among patients that have diabetes, hypertension, heart problems, those who have had suffered stroke or anybody over 40. They are usually formed when the inner lining of the blood vessel gains cholesterol or fat deposits. That’s the starting point for the fats to attract the formation of blood clot," explains Rod Munsayac, operations director of Sea Pharmacom, Inc.

"However, you can also get blood clots even if you don’t have cholesterol deposits. For instance, among diabetics, they are very prone to blood clots because there’s a problem in their

clotting mechanism. The fat deposits or the cholesterol deposits acts as a predisposing factor to accelerate the formation of blood clots," he adds.

BEAT THE CLOT

With blood clots posting health risks, Sea Pharmacom, Inc. introduces Plasmin, a dietary supplement that acts mainly to dissolve blood clots formed inside the blood vessels. It contains three enzymes – collagenase, profibrinolysin and fibrinolysin. First, the collagenase breaks up the shell which encloses the clot. Fibrinolysin, on the other hand, dissolves the fibrin or the mesh-like substance of the clot while profibrinolysin activator helps produce more fibrinolysin.

"The collagenase component of Plasmin is the key to its efficacy, since the most difficult part in dissolving blood clots is how to break up the collagen shell. And because Plasmin contains the right collagensase, it helps remove clots formed inside the blood vessels, makes blood less sticky, thus ensuring good blood circulation," explains Munsayac.

Plasmin is the ideal supplement for those who have diabetes, stroke, hypertension and heart disease, high cholesterol and obesity, varicose veins or those who are living a stressful lifestyle. It offers increase in physical energy, reduction in blood pressure and chest pain, reduction in blood sugar and cholesterol, improvement in breathing and speech, reduction in numbness and dizziness particularly among stroke patients. Continuous intake will to gradual significant recovery and sensation and function of hands and legs; speech improvement and continuous improvement of symptoms associated with diabetes, stroke, hypertension and heart disease.

"Plasmin is non-toxic, without any untoward side effects and is therefore ideal for long term use. However, after a few days of taking Plasmin some individuals may experience a sensation like antis walking on the skin or some pain and discomfort on the problematic part of the body. This only goes to show that Plamsin is working, and these sensations will spontaneously disappear without discontinuing treatment," he tells.

Proof of Plasmin’s efficiency, only a year after being introduced in the Philippines, it won the Philippine Marketing Excellence Awards as the "Most Outstanding Dietary Supplement" for 2005. This is a seal of confidence stamped by the consumers as well as marketing executives, headed by the Philippine Marketing Excellence Awards Institute, the Asian Institute of Marketing and Entrepreneurship and the Sales and Marketing Magazine. Through a combination of surveys and focus group discussions, Plasmin emerged as the top choice based on "best marketing practices" including product quality, customer service orientation, value pricing, customer confidence and overall market success.

Finally, Munsayac tells, "We feel that Plasmin can become a very good alternative concomitant to the other medications that doctors are giving. People are looking for a product that will help solve the problem directly at the same time without hurting them in the pocket and at no side effects."

(Plasmin is exclusively distributed by Sea Pharmacom, Inc. located at Suite 2208 Cityland 10 Tower II, #154 Dela Costa St., Salcedo Village, Makati Phils. For inquiries, email plasmin_inquiry@yahoo.com.)
