Three Logitech Products Win Japan´s Good Design Award 2005

Logitech announced that three of its products received a Good Design Award 2005, sponsored by the Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization. The three Logitech products — a set of wireless headphones, a webcam and a computer mouse — were named winners in the product design category.

Logitech Wireless Headphones for iPod

The Logitech® Wireless Headphones for iPod® provides music lovers high-quality sound and a comfortable fit — without any cords to tether them to their player. The headphones use advanced Bluetooth® 1.2 wireless technology, offering a range of 30 feet while providing crystal-clear digital audio quality. The headphones feature integrated iPod controls so people can adjust the volume as well as track forward, track backward, play and pause their playlists — while their iPod rests untouched on the counter, in a workout bag or in a pocket. The Logitech Wireless Headphones for iPod are designed for a secure and comfortable fit. The behind-the-head headband is lightweight, flexible and durable — making it ideal for use in a variety of settings. The headphones weigh a mere 3.2 ounces and the wireless adapter, which connects to the iPod through the headphone jack, weighs just over 1 ounce.

The QuickCam Fusion Webcam

The stylish QuickCam® Fusion™ webcam features a new approach to webcam design: Instead of sitting high above the computer´s monitor, the eyeball-shaped lens dips below the monitor casing and rests just above the display. The lower lens position makes it easier for people to maintain eye contact during a video call and have a more natural conversation. A chrome metal ring around the lens and a metallic grill over the microphone add a sense of sophistication to the design, while the webcam´s metallic midnight blue body accentuates modern computer designs. The webcam also features breakthrough audio, video and software technologies — including a 1.3 megapixel sensor, Logitech® RightLight™ technology, Logitech® RightSound™ technology, and Logitech® Video Effects™ software — making the experience of live video and audio communications better and more natural than ever.

The Logitech MX610 Laser Cordless Mouse

The world´s first smart mouse, the Logitech® MX™610 Laser Cordless Mouse can receive and process wireless communication from the PC. Other cordless mice can only send information in one direction: to the computer. Logitech integrated three LEDs (light-emitting diodes) into the smart mouse design, providing computer users with a tool that can tell them when the mouse battery is low and notify them when they receive an important e-mail or instant message (IM). The mouse also knows when the computer is on or off — and it can save power by turning itself off when the PC is dormant. Sculpted for the right hand, the Logitech MX610 Laser Cordless Mouse delivers a comfortable fit to go along with its versatile and stylish design. The mouse features 10 buttons, including volume up, down and mute buttons for controlling music on the PC.
