Vendor runs amuck with a bolo, is slain by responding cops

   

TAYTAY, Rizal — A vendor who reportedly ran amuck and wounded a couple was shot and killed by responding policemen in this town last Sunday.

Senior Supt. Freddie O. Panen, Rizal Provincial Police Office director, said the slain man was Jimmy Gabiana, 46, vendor.

Police said Gabiana ran berserk, wounding Nestor Marcelo and his wife Rosita at about 9 a.m. at Bagong Palengke, Barangay San Juan, Taytay, Rizal.

Police said the Marcelos were brought to the Manila East Medical Center.

Investigation showed that PO1 Carlo Campanero, assigned at the Taytay police station, was on foot patrol when he responded to a report that somebody ran amuck with a bolo after a heated argument.

Meanwhile, Roderick Renosa of Sitio Knight of Columbus, Loreland Subdivision, Barangay San Roque, Antipolo City was hacked to death allegedly by his three cousins who were all arrested.

The suspects were identified as Antonio Gonzales, Ricardo Gonzales, and Roberto Gonzales, all of Barangay San Roque, Antipolo. (Bert Javier)
