GMA to open new call center in Mandaluyong

President Arroyo opens this morning at 9 a.m. the executive and servicing offices of new call center WinSource Solutions Ltd. at the new Robinsons Cybergate Tower 1, Pioneer St., Mandaluyong City.

Government officials and executives in the call center industry led by Public Works and Highways Secretary Hermogenes Ebdane Jr., Trade and Industry Secretary Peter Favila, and Chairman David Mabey of the UK Mabey Group of Companies are expected to attend the opening.

Jojo Uligan, executive director of the Contact Center Association of the Philippines (CCAP), will be among the guests from the call center industry.

Officials and employees of WinSource led by Managing Director Grant Butsumyo will be on hand to welcome the President.

WinSource is the newest player of the country’s fast-growing call center industry which needs 2,000 employees to man its daily operations.

WinSource is a subsidiary of Winace Holdings Philippines Inc., which is all set to explore new areas in the business process outsourcing industry with the United States as its initial principal market.

It will service its customers through digital and electronic software applications and other services and facilities to complete commercial transactions.

At the sidelines of the inauguration, the Chief Executive will formally launch the GAM Modular Libraries, a joint project between the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the Bevil Mabey Study Foundation. The project seeks to build 1,000 modular libraries across the country.

The DPWH, under Ebdane, is building 900 library units, while the rest shall be undertaken by BMSF, a civic arm of Mabey and Johnson Ltd. of the United Kingdom, the sole supplier of pre-fabricated modular steel bridges for the President’s Bridge Program (PBP).

The modular libraries shall be constructed in areas where Mabey and Johnson modular steel bridges have been built. These are the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, Special Zone of Peace and Development, and far-flung barangays.

Since the DPWH-BMSF joint project started two years ago, some 100 underprivileged rural schools have been recipients of comprehensive reference books. Solar lighting for the Bevil Mabey libraries is still under study.
