ZAMBOANGA CITY — Ten truckloads of fake Nescafe, Milo, Coffee Mate and Bear Brand were seized from two warehouses and a store in Zamboanga City recently.
Nestle Philippines lauded the efforts of the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Task Force (PAOCTF) who conducted the series of raids in Zamboanga City that resulted in the confiscation of fake Nestle products in sachet, stick, and refill packs.
The PAOCTF padlocked the store at the Plaza II building in Sevilla St., and two warehouses in barangay Sta. Catalina, where the Fake Nestle products were seized.
Nestle Philippines has stepped up efforts to protect consumers nationwide against fake products, conducting raids in close coordination with law enforcement agencies and initiating legal actions against illegal operators who engage in the manufacture and/or sales of fake Nestle products.
Establishments raided earlier included retailers, distributors, and wholesalers located in Northern and Central Luzon (Cagayan, Baguio and Nueva Ecija), Manila and Southern Luzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Quezon, Aurora and Masbate), Visayas (Cebu and Western Samar) and Mindanao (Lanao del Norte, Cagayan de oro and Zamboanga).
Nestle said illegal operators have continued to victimize unsuspecting consumers, usually by offering fake products at remarkably lower prices. In order to protect its consumers’ health and safety, Nestle is asking those who have been victims of these fake products or know somebody who is, to report these incidents to Nestle Consumer Services at hotline 898-0061.
Nestle wishes to assure consumers who have come to trust its products that it will take all necessary steps to protect the public fron unscrupulous illegal operators who engage in manufacturing and/or selling fake Nestle products.
