A FAIRYTALE WEDDING…. That’s every bride’s dream.
Pretty Kathleen Kierulf believes she had hers when she became the bride of Franco Limjuco at the Santuario de San Antonio in Forbes Park.
She made a lovely bride in her Jun Escario and OJ Hoffer gown encrusted with pearls, sequins and crystals and threaded in gold as she walked the aisle on the arms of her parents Joey and Lily (nee Guevarra Styner) Kierulf.
Bridegroom Franco, the second son of Bert Limjuco and Maryann (nee Ojeda) Lumen, waited at the altar beside his best man, his brother Carlo Limjuco.
Their ninangs — Mrs. Menchu Romero, Ms. Jaina Perez, Mrs. Jojo Zabarte, Mrs. Ningning Yulo, Mrs. Marilou Verano and Mrs. Tess Balaguer all wore lavender gowns adorned in sage.
The ninongs, wearing black suits, were the bride’s uncle Louie Kierulf, the groom’s uncle Dr. James Styner, Louie Senn, Melo Santiago, Arturo Luz, and Francis Lumen.
Also in black suits were the groomsmen — Cookie la’O, Chris Guidotti, Gobby Yulo, Joel Yaptinchay, Derick Chiongbian, as they escorted the bridesmaids — Ria Romero, Pria Solon, Tricia Chiongbian and Mrs. Tina Jurado.
Kathleen had her sisters Jill and Patricia Kierulf as her maids of honor, dressed also by Jun Escario.
The lady secondary sponsors wore sage green, namely — Sharon Azanza, Nicole Guidotti and Dimples la’O.
The reception was held at the NBC Tent in the Fort which was decked like an English Garden with coaches and café tables laden with hors d’ouvres catered by Chef Margarita Fores of Cibo. The high coffee tables were decked with flowers and Artic Vodka bottles, created by 1816.
Dinner, catered also by Cibo, was capped with a dessert buffet where the Belgian chocolate fountains titillated palates and appetites.
And they danced till the wee hours to the music of Aquarela and spun by DJs Bombi Balquedra, Anthony Kierulf and Nicky Jurado.

A BIRTHDAY PARTY was hosted recently by society chronicler Rikki Jimenez for Ernie M. Ordoñez, national coordinator of Alyansa Agrikultura and president of Cement Manufacturers Association of the Philippines (CeMAP).
The intimate salu-salo was held at Italianni’s in Greenbelt 2 in Makati City. Among the well–wishers were Ernie’s wife, the former Sylvia Juico Muñoz, the executive director of the Center of Asia Pacific women in Politics (CAPWIP), a company aimed to promote politics for women.
The Ordoñez son, Ernesto J. "Nitoy" Ordoñez Jr., was also there… ditto, Gicer Sicat who operates an investment firm, with his wife Tita M. Sicat, ernie’s cousin and a faculty member of the UP College of Arts & Sciences. Tita Sicat is also the founder of SUKOB, an NGO that promotes programs for the prevention of blindness via cataract surgery; Ordoñez’s sister in law, lawyer Ningning J. Muñoz of Profesional Managers Inc., former beauty queen Vangie Pascual (who has her own radio program), and entertainment editor Alex C. Brosas.
The Italianni waiters sang noisily (as they always do) while Ernie blew the candles on his birthday cake.
