Hero Angeles now with GMA-7?

The controversial Hero Angeles hasn’t signed a formal contract with GMA-7 yet but from all indications, the former ABS-CBN artist is now with GMA Network. Hero’s contract with ABS-CBN Star Magic expired just recently.

Hero started guesting on GMA-7 shows last week via "Startalk," and last Sunday Hero appeared on "SOP Gigsters," and later in the afternoon on "S-Files." In "SOP Gigsters," Hero got to dance with Mark Herras, one of the show’s most popular stars. Hero revealed he was a little nervous at first dancing with Mark who is already known for his terpsichorean skills.

Hero also expressed desire to work with and know more about Jennylyn Mercado, among other GMA young female stars.

Tara Tambuning: Rock singer to watch out for!

She has everything going for her — youth, beauty, talent and a legacy of wealth. That’s why Tara Tambunting is one very lucky girl, and someone expected to make it in the world of music. She is truly a singer worth watching out for!

Tara started singing at a young age, entertaining family and friends at various occasions. Music has always been her love and passion and so, early in her life, she took steps to hone her innate singing talent. She took up not only voice lessons but studied guitar and bass playing too.

Tara, who is a look-alike of Hollywood singer-actress Lindsay Lohan, also write songs and she hopes to record them someday.

One of her compositions is entitled "Misplaced" and she is including it in her repertoire in her Music Museum debut concert on Oct. 27. Entitled "Tara: It’s My Life," it is presented by architect Gerry Contreras with Butch Miraflor as musical director and GB Sampedro as stage director.

Three of the country’s premier artists today, Ogie Alcasid, Jay-R and Sugarfree are lending support to Tara in her first major concert. Aside from their original songs. The three guest performers will be doing unique duets with Tara.

Tara of course is very excited and honored to share the stage with such prestigious artists that is why she has doubled her efforts in polishing her performance. She knows that not everyone is given this opportunity and that this moment can change her life forever.

"Tara: It’s My Life is sponsored by Dispo Philippines, Multimed Industries and Practika Philippines. Radio Partners are Magic 89.9, Joey 92.3 and K-Lite 103.5.

Beneficiary is Bantay Bata Foundation, Inc.

Gary Lewis and the Playboys

When Gary Lewis performs for his three-night stint before his captive audience here in the Philippines, he will be singing his songs straight from his heart. Why?

Simply because Gary Lewis is married to true full-blooded Filipina, the beautiful and talented Jinky Suzara.

Gary (son of the famous Jerry Lewis) and Jinky were married in their early teens. Both are Roman Catholics.

Jinky is no ordinary Filipina beauty. At that time of her marriage to Gary Lewis, she was a sophomore journalism student pursuing a degree in Bachelor of Literature in Journalism (Litt.B) at the exclusive Faculty of Philosophy and Letters at the University of Sto. Tomas (UST)

This college has the unique distinction of having women graduates known for their beauty and brains.

Jinky Suzara for a while served as co-host to Wismie Powell (also a Philet graduate), at a popular afternoon TV program.

The beauty of Jinky Suzara is a combination of Debbie Reynolds and Sandra Dee, two erstwhile Hollywood stars. She has a natural blond curly hair and a flawless complexion.

At UST, she was one of the more popular and well-liked campus beauties along the likes of Sonia Shuhart-Sy, Jullie Yap Daza, Ma. Cristina Pantoja-Hidalgo, Brenda Leuterio-Tanjutco, Lita Alviar-Luga, Rita Gaddi-Baltazar, Cherry Santamaria-Franco, Mitos Cabrera-Araneta, Evelyn Gella-Sison, Marie Jessica Picard-Richards, and Jean Pope-Williams to name a few. Also among the beauty-and-brains lady graduates of Philets is my kababayan, Mrs. Alicia Colet-Villadolid.

Anyway, let Gary Lewis and the Playboys serenade you with their well-chosen repertoire at the Araneta Coliseum on Oct. 28; at the Manila Hotel on Oct. 29 and at Clark Expo in Angeles, Pampanga on Oct. 30.
