He is banking on the script written by awarded sceenwriter Jigs F. Recto, the play’s music by Jobin Ballesteros and the director, Elwood Perez. Also in "Private Parts" are popular celebrities like Viva Hotbabes Maui Taylor and Myles Hernandez, Avi Siwa, Ynez Veneracion, Sofia Rei, Vangie Labanan and noted theater actor Behn Cervantes.
"We really thought this out. This is not just a sexy comedy play. According to our director, writer and stars, we really got the best actors for this play," Allen said.
He added that "Private Parts" too has some depth as it tackles politics, religion and social problems as connected to a person’s sex life. It also deals on how women use and misuse their private parts to get what they want in life.
"Comedy siya but people can learn a lesson or two from watching it. If they enjoyed ‘Hipo’ they will definitely enjoy this one too," Allen bragged.
Compared to "Hipo," Allen is the only leading man in "Private Parts." This for him makes the play more challenging and exciting.
"Siyempre mas may pressure ito sa akin. But I will really show off my acting skills in this play. Yun ang maganda kasi sa plays, you get to improve your craft more," he explained. "This is my second play so dapat mas mahigitan ko yung ‘Hipo.’"
He also calls "Private Parts" as very sensual because of all the female actresses involved and their scenes together. He hints that there will be a revelation early on the play.
Since the demise of sexy and bold movies where he became a byword during its heyday, Allen’s been acting in TV dramas and soap operas. Then he discovered after the successful staging of "Hipo" that adult-oriented stage plays have the same appeal to the adult audience like his past sexy films. The only difference he said is that his movies could be finished in a week or so, but his play requires weeks of rehersals before its opening night.
"It’s really hard and very tiring to rehearse for a play. It drains your energy. Kaya kailangan ding maging physically fit. But everything’s worth it because we all know we are working for a good project," shared Allen. "Natatakot din ako na baka ma-mental block ako on stage. Nakakahiya yun!"
One of the hardships too that Allen encountered was the problems with some of the female cast members. The likes of Katherine Luna and Belinda Bright who left the play. Katherine was reported and rumored to be unprofessional – she seldom rehearsed – while Belinda was said to have lost interest in "Private Parts" when Ynez Veneracion replaced Katherine Luna.
"Sometimes it is a headache. You already know the cast then it changes. But I don’t let it affect me because I know that those things do happen. I didn’t meddle anymore kasi pareho silang artista and baka may masabi pa sila sa akin so hinayaan ko na lang. Siguro Diyos na bahala doon," lamented Allen.
But will Allen literally show his private parts for the sake of art in "Private Parts?"
"I still don’t know. I guess you have to watch it to find out," he smiled. "But I will have love scenes here with Maui and other actresses too. There might be breast exposures on their part. As for me, I still don’t know."
Allen Dizon is Ryan Takeone, the leading man of a fading young star Daisy Ocho played by Maui Taylor. Ynez Veneracion is Agnes de Dios, a suicidal woman and a has-been sexy actress. Myles Hernandez is Myla Lengua, a naďve sex symbol, Avi Siwa as Eva Adan a bisexual bimbo and Wilma Doesnt as the heckler leader Halle Luya.
Allen says that the play starts with the discovery of a dead man whose body was mutilated. He plays the policeman who investigates the crime and he plays the dead man too. The latter, according to him, is like a sex symbol desired by the women in the play, something he could relate to in real life.
"Sometimes you just know that women look at you differently. Okay lang naman sa akin, pero minsan I become conscious, " he said.
So what’s on the mind of Allen Dizon as the big man of ATD Productions as the staging of "Private Parts" nears?
"I’m really wishing that ‘Private Parts’ make money. I also pray that the movie industry becomes better again so there would be jobs for actors!"
