According to Richard, he asked Martha before about the real status of her relationship with Carlos but the actress refused to give her manager a direct answer that’s why the latter decided to stop asking about things that concern her private life.
However, when news on Martha’s pregnancy popped Richard had to confront her again for fear that she might not be able to fulfill her showbiz commitments.
"I’m mad at her [Martha] because she refuses to give me an honest answer. She knows very well na marami kaming commitments na kailangan harapin. Hindi ko alam ang next step na gagawin ko kasi ayaw niya aminin sa akin if she’s really pregnant," admitted Richard.
Martha was introduced last year via the Robin Padilla–starrer, "La Visa Loca," and consequently starred in "Saplot" under ATB–4 Productions.
Early this year, she was tapped to be the image model of Nutrafit & Exofat sleeping pills then just recently, she signed up as official endorser of Melika Whitening products.
According to Manila Bulletin’s sources, Martha and Carlos have been dating these past months at bars located along Roces Avenue in Quezon City. One source, who refused to be identified, even caught the couple smooching in the restroom of Mumba Bar.
"We’re friends and we used to go out. Now we don’t communicate anymore. I couldn’t tell you that we were in a relationship before ‘coz I couldn’t explain it myself. I have yet to talk to Carlos," Martha told the Bulletin last Saturday.
Although she refused to confirm nor deny anything about the pregnancy issue, more questions just inevitably surfaced when Martha mentioned about the need to see her doctor first before she could go out and explain her side to everybody.
"At this time, I just want space so that I could evaluate myself and the things that I’m doing. The issue (on her pregnancy) started as a blind item in a tabloid then eventually it came out as a news item with my name and Carlos’so people started calling me. And when I preferred not to say anything, that was when my manager got mad at me. He wants me to clear the issue but I need supporting details and proof so that people cannot accuse me of anything. That’s why I’m seeing my doctor afterwards," explained Martha.
Tomorrow, Nov. 8, Martha will hold a press conference to set the record straight and eventually put an end to this issue.
"I know Richard’s concern is my pending commitments because he has a lot of plans for me. But I’m really puzzled right now. I don’t want to go any further, it’s better to say less in the meantime," reasoned Martha.
No word has been heard from Carlos as of this writing since Bulletin’s efforts to reach him turned futile.
