CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — Two Ateneo teams scored two victories each to advance to the finals of the Mindanao SBP (Small Basketeers Philippines) and Passerelle regional basketball finals at the Xavier University gym here.
Defending champion Ateneo de Davao dominated the SBP level, crushing Notre Dame of Dadiangas, 65-25, and Ateneo de Zamboanga, 68-10.
Ateneo de Zambo-anga bounced back to hurdle its two Passarelle rivals. The Ateneans downed host Xavier, 72-67, and Notre Dame of Dadiangas, 63-58.
Joining the Ate-neans in the finals of both divisions are Sacred Heart and Holy Child School of Davao.
Sacred Heart toppled Ateneo de Zamboanga, 58-47, and Notre Dame of Dadiangas, 60-55, in the SBP division. Holy Child ripped Notre Dame of Dadiangas, 92-65, and Xavier, 98-84, in the Passarelle group.
The final matches in the tourney organized by BEST Center and sponsored by Milo were being played at presstime yesterday.
