Napa Valley is one of the coolest destinations for foodies. It possesses two of the three best things in life: Good Food and Excellent Wine. (Of course the third best thing is women, right?). I stayed in Napa for almost two months because I took a series of continuing education classes at the Culinary Institute of America. In this part of California, the best past time is to wine and dine in all the nice restaurants from fast food to fine dining.


Mini Sabu-Shabu’s newest branch at the ridge of Manila Bay (CCP Complex,) is, perhaps, the city’s best hot pot restaurant, especially during the late afternoon until deep dusk, when the oranging sun reflects on fine stainless steel cookware with simmering superior broths in seafood and meaty flavors.


Cheese—in all cheesy characteristics—is practically very useful in everyone’s dish. It is one of the most convenient ingredients for different types of cuisine and courses, as for appetizers, soups, entrées and (most especially) desserts. In short, one can always make a complete meal-line (for degustation) out of this dynamically dairy ingredient.


People love a restaurant for different reasons – a reminder of good memories, good prices, impeccable service, convenience, familiarity, proximity, etc. However, there is no better way of keeping diners coming than providing them with excellent food.


Upon hearing that there would be a Master Chef executing a Hong Kong style dinner my executive assistant had her anxiety attacks knowing I would postpone certain appointments she had fixed. And I did….


Christmas is the best time to show one’s baking prowess. After more than a year of having my column with Adoree and more than six months having my own column, I am sure most of you, my readers are now baking. So for this season of giving, I am sharing with you baked goodies that you will surely enjoy making for your loved ones or better yet make money out of it. That is the main reason I bringing out the article this early so you prepare the ingredients and the packaging materials. Most of these baked items are very reasonably priced using just a hand held mixer to make. There will be more recipes to come so watch out for this.
