National mango congress slated

   

The 7th National Mango Congress will be held at the Garden Orchid Hotel in Zamboanga City from November 24 to 26, it was announced by Rene Florencio, convention chairman.

Theme of the Congress is "Optimizing Growers’ Productivity for a Sustainable Mango Industry." Experts will discuss timely topics such as inputs and production, postharvest and processing, local and foreign markets, financing and others.

The Congress is under the auspices of the Philippine Mango Industry Federation headed by Florencio. It is hosted by the Zamboanga city Mango Growers Multi-Purpose Cooperative. Co-organizers are the Department of Agriculture, Mindanao Fruit Industry Council (Minfruit) and the Zamboanga City government. Congress director is Nonito J. Bernardo.
