Sony Ericsson expands range with new handsets offering

Sony Ericsson is expanding its product line-up with the introduction of three new handsets offering a combination of design quality, ease of use and value that reaches out to a broad range of consumers with basic mobile phone needs for calling and texting.

The new models are the J220i, a phone optimized for ease of use with simplified one-click menu access; the J230i, which also offers simplified menu access as well as an FM radio; and the Z300i, an attractive clamshell phone with beautiful design lines.

With each handset having its own appeal, these entry-level phones are focused on making voice and text communications as easy as possible with great design, and the use of features such as one-click navigation, single icon menus, and color screens.

The Sony Ericsson J220i allows consumers to personalize their menu view by choosing between a visually simple single icon menu and the popular Sony Ericsson multi-icon menu that gives an at-a-glance overview of all the key functions. The one-click navigation key and icon markings on the navigation key make it simpler and easier to access the most commonly used functions. This handset can store up to 500 phone numbers and up to 200 SMS.  The J220i is available in smooth black or sky blue colors and can be personalized with Style-Up™ covers.

Staying in tune to your favorite music, sports or news stations is never a problem with the Sony Ericsson J230i’s built-in stereo FM radio. The phone also comes equipped with a stereo hands-free and a speaker phone located at the back of the handset for enhanced user experience. The J230i even allows a choice between the single or multi-icon menu styles and provides easy access to handset features with the one-click interface.  Listening to the radio, answering a call, looking up a phone number, and starting an SMS message are all done in one click. In addition, the handset offers a phone book storage capacity of up to 500 phone numbers and a large SMS storage capacity of up to 200 messages.  The J230i comes in cosmo white, cherry red or deep blue and can also be personalized with the Style-Up™ covers.

For style-conscious individuals looking for a simple phone that fits their mood, taste and lifestyle, the elegant Z300i clamshell phone comes in granite grey and amethyst purple colors. Each Z300i box even includes Crystal Décor beads which customers can use to decorate and personalize their phone. Open the clamshell to reveal a bright, sharp color display, a large keypad plus a navigation key that reaches all the main functions in one click.  The outer display shows the clock and incoming caller information. The Z300i also offers a phone book, calendar, alarm clock, games, reminders, and even allows consumers to personalize their phones with the Style-Up™ covers available from accessory outlets.

The Z300i will reach local stores in Q4 2005 while the Sony Ericsson J220i and J230i will be available in the Philippines by Q1 2006.
