New software makes the creation of home movies a breeze

Do you ever wonder how they make those special effects in TV commercials and movies? I didn't realize that it only takes a few clicks on my computer until we got the chance to preview the recently-released Pinnacle Studio version 10, the latest in the line-up of home video editing products popular in the US and now available in the Philippines.
Pinnacle Systems Inc., a subsidiary of Avid Technology, announced that their new software will be available in two packages: the Studio version 10 which is designed for amateur storytellers and the Studio Plus which creates more professional-looking results to fit the needs of advanced video enthusiasts. With Studio version 10's intuitive user interface, movie-making for the aspiring videographer is only three steps away with the software's Capture, Enhance and Share principle.With the SmartMovie feature, one can develop a home movie in minutes with one's file of videos and digital photos by using many of the special effects and transitions that are easily applicable with the touch of a button. In addition, users can create and preview effects in real-time, perform instant transfers to DVD as well as easily organize videos, photos, audio and music files for drag and drop editing with the Pinnacle Media Manager. Its other features include SmartSound containing a vast library of categorized royalty-free music; and a host of video and audio restoration tools to stabilize images, reduce noise and restore damaged video tapes, for instance. On the other hand, the more advanced Studio Plus version 10 incorporates all the features of the former while offering more sophisticated options for its users and providing full HD editing capabilities. This version boasts of more effects and transitions such as HollywoodFX, real time effects, slow and fast motion video. With the keyframeable preview mode, the real-time effects and transitions can be viewed immediately in full resolution on a primary or secondary computer monitor.There is audio playback and audio scrubbing for easy identification of key audio cues like specific musical beats and words.Studio Plus also enables users to capture video from consumer HD cameras and DVD video cameras. The software's HD Pan & Zoom feature retains the greatest image resolution and so anyone with a digital camera can be ready for HD (high definition) moviemaking. Pinnacle officials said the Studio software is the first home editing product to offer the ability to import and export in HD formats, including HDV (1080i and 720p), MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, and Windows Media 9. It also supports audio files in WAV and MP3 formats as well as bmp, jpg, pct, tga, tif and wmf graphic formats.To get the system running, your computer should be Intel Pentium/AMD 1.4 MHZ or higher with at least 512 MB RAM (1 GB required for HD), have a DVD ROM drive, DirectX9 or higher compatible graphics card with 32MB and be installed with Windows XP.
