Bodybuilders of international caliber will form part of a large entourage of great champions arriving in Manila for the 23rd SEAGAMES Philippines 2005. PFBB president & newly-elected ABBF vice-president Luciano "Sonny" Lim, who heads the SEAG Bodybuilding Organizing Committee, will lead the reception.
Bodybuilding is one of 41 sports and six of 441 events to be played in this much-awaited regional competition. Some 40 athletes will weigh in on December 2, at 10:00 am at the Teatro ng GSIS, followed by general rehearsals. On December 3, pre-judging begins at 1:00 pm with popularly priced tickets at P100 for all seats. The finals event will start on December 4, with seven nations vying in six bodyweight categories.
The Philippine national team will be represented by light flyweight Rex Dellava, flyweight Fernando Faroden, bantam weight Michael Borenaga, lightweight Armando Villasoto, welterweight Alfredo Trazona, Jr., and light middleweight Jesus Duga.
They will join fellow athletes from Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam at Grand Boulevard Hotel along Roxas Boulevard and near the famous Bay Walk. While waiting for the December competitions the world class athletes will workout at Super Sharp Fitness Center, MIA Road, Tambo, Paranaque City.
